My computer beeps a short beep every 25 seconds when I try to start it, and it won't start up. The windows xp startup comes on, then the screen is dark, it beeps and the xp startup window comes on again and the process goes on and on. Please help. Thanks

Try to open your cpu, and fix some hardware inside, maybe theres something lose there like video card or your RAM, i encountered also that problem. try to do this.maybe it can help.

Thanks so much for your response. I had tried all of that before writing in, disconnected, cleaned and reconnected everything and all that was accomplished was that there's no beeping anymore, but the computer still won't get past the windows xp loading screen...It loads, I get a glimpse of the blue intel pentium screen, then black and then back to xp loading screen and on and on. Could it be the motherboard? and if I change that, will I lose everything on the computer. Thanks for all your advice.
