I'm trying to take a link out of my new Nixon watch band to make it fit better, but I can't seem to figure out how to get a link out. Any ideas?

I tried the hammer plyer thing way back but took a bunch of time and stress, then I took it into a skate shop where they sold nixon watches and they had an actual tool supplied by nixon and all the **** needed to do the job.

Pulling the pin out with pliers is good just make sure the metal small metal sleeve that keeps the pin tight inside the link isn't lost.

You need this metal sleeve to keep the pin secure when re-installing the pin back into the link hole.

The sleeve goes first inside the bigger opening and then the pin in the direction of the arrow.

You guys above probably figured this out already.

Thanks for the info!

I had the same problem with a Nixon. you need to hammer out one of the appropriate steel pins (only the pins with arrows printed on the link come out - hammer them in the direction of the arrow). mini screwdrivers and a hammer do the job - they're in pretty tight so you have to give them a good whack.once there's a bit of the pin sticking out you can pull the rest of the way with pliers.

You should take the watch to a local jeweler / watch repair shop in your area that deals with that brand. If not, contact Nixon by this link-

How do you adjust the band to fit a smaller wrist

You have to take out the small pinions that interconnect the different small pieces of your wrist band.

If you take it to a watch repair shop he probably won't even charge you for it.

Watch band links.

you would have to either have custom links made or buy a whole new band to be made the links pop out by pins and then shortened placed this way back together
but if you dont have extra links buying longer band is your better sollution cause creating a link or 2 to fits can be costly
