Nikon D90 Image playback Mode

Hi - My D80 allows the length of time the the image displays to be set using the menu system. You shouldn't have any trouble setting this. Mine can be set from 5 sec to 10 minutes. Lookup Monitor-Off in your manual.

Nikon d80 LCD screen

Hello cherdh,

To disable those blinking spots, just press the up or down cursor keys at the back of the camera while in playback mode. You will get three different views. One shows the EXIF data (Image data) as an over lay on your photograph. Press the button again to go to histogram mode, with graphs. Press it again to go to a mode where some image data is on the bottom of the display with no blinkies on the image.

Those blinking black spots are called highlights in a photograph. They indicate the areas where your photograph is over-exposed, i.e. where there is too much light and the colours are washed out. It can be a good tool to get a good exposure. Keep clicking with different settings till you get an exposure without those blinking spots.

I hope this helps.

LCD Blank when in camera or movie mode

Defective ccd imager!! There's an internal loose inside ccd imager. Sony will replace this ccd imager free of charge. Year 2002 up to 2005 released units has a factory defect ccd imager. the company recalled those units and replaces with a stronger version of ccd imager.( they are still doing it). check it out.

My screen is blank on all modes except playback and setup

If you can playback captured images ok but in capture mode your screen goes blank and taken shots are black then the CCD sensor in your camera is faulty and has to be replaced. Nikon agent -if you can find one- will do this for you but it may be uneconomical repair on this entry level model.
