Android CentralFeb 17, 2015 - We're all so used to buying a phone with intentions of using it on a carrier that ... I have no service at all so I'm wondering if I can use the phone's Wififeatures in .... phones dont usually carry all the maps around, so they download what ..... None of these Android phones require a SIM card to use the device.

the first thing i would try? move the apps back into phone memory out of the sd card.maybe put the wifi back on phone memory,shut the phone off,remove the battery,put it back in & restart phone.it may take a minute or two for the sd card to mount.
then to "my files" (under apps on home screen ).choose external memory.pick wifi,tap the top right button. you will see options.pick "move".pick "device storage".that should put it back on the device.turn wifi on & see if it works. (P.S-always before removing sd card,pick "storage" on your menu. you will see the option to
"unmount".be sure to do this every time before removing sd card.

if the modem you have , has ethernet jack (RJ45 called)
then use that for fasted possible wired connections
super easy.!!!

getting wifi to work takes hard work.

then run the wifi setup and set it up.


1: get the OS drivers matching your VISTA OS.
2:then load those from HP then in BIOS turn on wifi.
3:now the device manager show wifi is there.
4: then using the wifi control appl... set up your wifi matching credentials. SSID name, WEP.WPA1/2 method and then you password to your homes wifi net.

Only the S5230W has Wifi, WiFi is not something you install. Either the phone has WiFi or not.

hello gr8umar65, so sorry to inform u that your s5230 does not have wifi and also it cannot be installed. for a phone to have wifi it also involves a hardware inside the phone by the manufacturers. thanks

check your wifi settings by turning on your wifi, instead of selecting wpa or wpe, select infrastructure and select none for password. try also dragging your wifi home network to your phone wifi icon. and check.

Well, what you do is install any network drivers, for your WiFi adapter, then Install the software for your WiFi Card. Now your WiFi Router, has a Name.. an SSID, this is what you will "See" when you search for a network. Also it may have a WEP/WAP key... or "password" you need to know this. You should have all this info from when you installed the router. Now when you try to connect to the network, you choose the SSID & when asked enter your Key (Password/number) and you will be able to access the network. if there is none you just go straight through. This is done either through the Windows WiFi or the makers installed software.. it makes no difference really. If you use proprietary software you must turn off windows wifi manager.

E50 doesnt have wifi feature i.e there is no hardware to access wifi,so u cant install wifi settings,if u need wifi,change the handset E60 has wifi
