SOURCE: using the oven timer of a Stove oven circa 1999

The normal STOVES label is on the rear of the oven, but there should be a small label visible on the left hand side of the lower oven when you lower the door. There should be a long product number on that with the unit serial number. The product no can be used to identify the unit. STOVES may be able to help here.
I have a 720EF handbook scanned and it is on my BT Digital Vault, so if you want this version give me a valid email address and I will ensure you receive a copy.

SOURCE: where can i get a operators manual for a stoves

If STOVES are not able to help at all, then ask them what the model number is. With that information you may be able to locate a handbook.

SOURCE: need to adjust clock setting

Press + and - at the same time (manual says hold for 3? seconds) and then + or - to set the time. If from power up, as I did yesterday, I don't think you need to hold them together for any length of time, but maybe it was my imagination, since I tried it first before I read the manual.

SOURCE: Stoves E2H600- lighting behind fascia

A bit involved but quite straightforward.
Open the grill door and you will see 4 screws on the underside of the hob - remove the inner 2.
You can now hinge up the entire hob.
On each side of the hob is a trim piece with 2 screws which retain the glass front panel. Remove these and the end trims.
Carefully pull the timer buttons away from the fascia - the simply click into position.
The glass panel can now be tilted up and removed - it is pocketed at the top.
Each of the control knob assembly can then be easily pulled away from the controls.
The fluorescent tube is situated below the controls in a recess.
Rotate the tube through 90° and lift the tube out.
Refitting is the reverse of the above procedure.

My clock does not work on my stove

Hi Jason. Have you performed the following actions?
Electronic Timing Center (Analog Clock w/Digital Display)
Synchronizing the analog and digital clocks
1. Press the "timer" and "start time" buttons simultaneously.
2. Turn the set knob to move the hands on the analog clock to any time setting.
3. After five seconds the display will go blank. Press the timer button and using the set knob, set the digital time to the exact time on the analog clock. This will synchronize the two clocks. You can now set the time of day.
Setting the Time-of-Day
The time-of-day must be set before any other program can be used. When your oven is first connected to the power in your home, the digital display will show 00:00. To program the time-of-day:
1. Push and hold the "timer" and "bake hours" button at the same time.
2. Turn the "Set" knob until correct time is displayed on the digital clock.
3. Release "timer" and "bake hours" button
The analog clock will automatically set after the digital time is set

Let me know so that I may follow up if need be.

We cannot get the oven to work and there is no operating instructions available - can you let us know how to put the fan oven on, apparently it has got something to do with the timer?

The clock has to be set with a time. Any time. When you set the time you will hear a relay operate which will switch the power through to the oven controls. If the clock is faulty so that you cannot set a time, you will not be able to make the bottom oven work.
Look at some of my earlier solutions to see how the clock/timer should be set.

I have a Stoves double oven and after a power cut the clock has stopped working and the main oven is not working either. the clock is completely off. the small top oven is still working though. what can...

The clock controls the ovens. In other words, directly you set any time on the clock, a contact operates within it to provide power to the ovens. (Normally the grill remains operational). You may need a new clock/timer. Before you do so, try switching the power off at the main isolating switch and leaving it off for a few mins, then switching it back on, to try to get the clock to operate. You may need to do this a few times.
Normally Stoves stick a label identifying the model on the left hand edge of the lower oven. You see this when you lower the main oven door. it will probably start with a 05 and be 9 digits long. With this number you can identify the oven and obtain parts.

Have lost the user manual and need to reset the clock and timer and would appreciate some advice on how to do this. The Stove is a heritage 720EM

Like most ovens you press the 2nd and 3rd buttons simultaneously (cook duration & finish time). While doing so, use + or - to set the time.
