Cannot edit text in acrobat x pro

You can use the following steps to prevent PDF file from being corrupted...

1. Click Add file button to add a file.
2. Select PDF file from the dialog box
3. In the Add file dialog box, click Advanced button.
4. Set File Type to Binary in the combo box.

Maybe a file in the usual program or configuration directory was locked by another program (e.g. antivirus scans) when you were removing the old edition of Magix Edit Pro; that would leave directories like /Programs/Magix and /Data/Programs/Magix and possibly registry entries (call up RegEdit and delete (or export and then delete) the old items pertaining to Magix or EditPro) around blocking 17 from coming in. Just rename those vestigial directories so they won't be in the install's way. Then retry and report...success?

its a reader so u wouldnt be able to edit the docs but u shud be able to print the doc.> check if it has any updates to be installed with>

This maybe bee a solution.

1: the text is inserted in a picture, therefore you can not edit it
2: the text you want to edit has a unknown font for adobe, therefore you need to delete the word/ from "." to "." and then wirte all between the "." again
3: you are not choisen first the area you want to edit, and then the text feature to insert the text

With Acrobat 6 Professional -Select Tools > Advanced Editing > TouchUp Text Tool
Next, click on the text line where you want to do an edit.
Click-drag to select a string of characters and let your fingers walk the keyboard.
Or, just start where you've placed the cursor.
You'll find it somewhat awkward. PDF is not a word editing/processing
format. If desired edits are few and simple the TouchUp Text Tool
will suffice. If the desired edits are more than you really want to return
to the authoring application (word processor, whatever) to make the edits.
Then produce a new output PDF.

Note that the above presumes the PDF does not have security applied that prevents such edits.
