Remote is universal Zenith. Mute button displays on sceen propewrly but has no effect. Can't find any reference to "Sound Off/On" when using remote. Only reference to audio is 'Stereo/Mono"

The TV is located in a small fitness center at our country club. The TV is working correctly again. I believe a member's grandchild came in and re-programmed it for us.

SOURCE: turning the sap off using my universal remote

If there are any menu setting buttons on the t.v. itself then I would try using them to find the sap setting.

Hello, i have fixed a few of these units, Mainly the problem is, is the crappy design inside, take out all of the screws from the bottom of the unit, be careful when pulling the top cover off cause the battery unit on the side is detachable and could be stuck and u can rip the wires off the system board. now you will see the 2 speakers, take a razor blade and carefully cut away the glue that holds the speakers in, and there may be little white plates with 2 screws that hold the speaker down also. Now take the speakers out and test them on a home entertainment center or a cd player that has red and black connectors for speakers in the back. See if they work first, if they do carefully reconnect the speakers to the motherboard and reseat the connectors back in with ease. try the unit again. if it doesnt work check the solder joints where the connectors attach to the motherboard, sometimes they will come loose. From my expierence with these units is they tend to jam the speakers inside so tight that they eventually stop working, so be sure to only use the connectors to hold them in.

Volume Stopping Instantly

A few things to consider: if mute on the set is not on what about the box if you are using one?

Speakers could be switched off in the set.
There could be a internal / external speaker switch(not common but possible)
Sound on the set could be muted or turned real low or off.

if the image you see on the screen is there--either it is from the set or a box if one is used.

only a few things other than the sound circuit being bad will cause this--very few sets with actual no sound problems are around.

The mute button cuts the main audio but the effects audio is still heard. What to do?

That's basically normal actually...however it depends on which aux send you're using. If you use aux 1 for the effects, you can use the pre/post switch on the master aux 1 send to switch it to pst fader....now your mute switch should kill the effects as well. Aux 2 is good to use for monitors where you don't need to return them to the mixer.

Cannot increase sound on TV using remote or manually

HERE'S THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM:

There are times that TV sound problems does not require you to call for a technician. Some TV sound problems are just easy to repair, and you can just do it yourself. Try to do this one:

1. Press the "Mute" button on the remote control or press the "Volume Up" button. The most common cause of no sound is accidental use of the television's "Mute" function.

2. Make sure the speaker source switch on the back of the television is switched to "Int" if you are using the television's speakers and "Ext" if using surround sound. If not set properly, you will not hear the television sound.

3. Access the television's equalizer by pressing the "Menu" button, selecting "Sound" and then "Equalizer." A list of sound options will appear on the screen. Use the up and down arrow buttons to select the option you want to adjust, and the right and left arrow buttons to make adjustments to the option. You should use this method of adjusting the sound settings if the audio output is in some way unusual.

4. Check the surround sound speaker wires and make sure they are secured to the audio jacks on the back of the television. In addition, ensure that the surround sound speakers are powered on.
If it does not work still. Contact your service provider.

Thanks... I hope this helps...

Call your muted A747 from another phone.
Answer the call.
On your A747 select Options with the top left button.
Select the first entry, Mute/Unmute.

This fixed the same problem on my A747. Before doing this the Mute/Unmute had no effect. After doing the repair, all is OK.

Lost sound on Toshiba 27DF46

Well, I solved the problem.  First of all, I should have left it on "ant" and left the Television to figure out whether there was a DVD in it or not.  Then, I had the wrong channel which was just plain stupid.  But the weirdest thing is that my remotes are not working and they were fine.  I changed the batteries and no luck, so I will have to see what is what with that.  Fortunately, even though they won't turn things on, they will work the volume.  I have a feeling our new wireless system is having some kind of effect on them.  Great.

New laptop

I had this problem too. My built in mic wasnt working, but i went to the list of programs (Classic view of the start menu) and under the program folder TOSHIBA > Speech System it'll have a choice "Configure Microphone." After I went through that, it worked fine. Make sure you restart your webcam software though after you've done that if you had it open like me. Hope this works!
