I have only had the r1800 1 year but i feel i have bought the printer three time over every time time i think i am gointgto have a good run the ink runs out
Yes the inks are very expensive, but you can have a stratégie to reduce costs. make small tests before print an A4 or A3 picture. use a calibrating device to take off the color distorsion (if not, you will have alway the same cardridge empty first, usually red or blue). be carefull of the paper type, mat or glossy, they don't need the same ink quantity (specify it in the driver).
with a color calibration, you can also use generic inks, saving 50 to 70%.
However, the r1800 is a professionnal printer and the prints costs 2 to 5$...like professionnal prints!
