Bought it about 4 months ago. What can I do? Is it possible to open it and clean it or better go to proffesional repairer?

You are going to have to send that into the repairs dept for Casio. Sand is a killer on these cameras. Call the repairs center at 800-706-2534 and then keep choosing option 1. If they tell you to call tech support first just lie and tell them that you already talked to them. LOL

I dropped this camera accidently in the sand at the beach.I've cleaned it out the best I can but the Lens evidently still has sand particles in it. when I turn on the power it reads "Lens...

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them:

FEEL IN THE SAND...

This is a common problem to digital cameras for those who take it to the beach. The problem was that there could be granules of sand in the lens and thus preventing your lens to come out.

What you need to do is to hold you camera on your right hand, with the lens facing downwards. Then turn the camera on as you gently hit it with your left palm. Do this several times until the sand comes out and your lens could retract out again.

I was at the beach with my hubby and one year old

yes there is sand in the lens mechanism
You could try using a compressor or can of compressed air around the lens. Then smack it hard a few times in your palm then tuern on to see if you have releaed the sand from the mechanism do this till it works again,OR just buy a new camera as the techs ( who will do the same as I have instructed you will charge $180 for the repair and possibly tell you it isnt fixable anyway. Keep persisting with the air and smacks.

I think I have sand in my casio casing. The pictures are sometimes blury and the zoom doesnt always go in and out. We took it to the beach, and well...... Is a Casio Elilim ex-s600. Do you know how I...

You will not be able to clean out the sand yourself. The sand probably got in to the mechanics of the lens and other moving parts.

The inside of the lens is made like a watch, and is very precision for calibration. Once you open up your camera and especialy the lens, I have doubts it will ever work again!

Servicing the camera may not be cost effective. You can enquire to Casio to see what they would charge for this type of service. I would think it would be more feasible to replace the camera.

If you want to take a camera to a beach, make sure it is in a sealed containment. The water vapour, any salt spray, sand, and or sand dust will certainly cause damage to even the most expensive cameras!

Casio E57 wont turn on

Hi: Most problems with cameras that each time we turm them on and they switch off automatically are based on couple of things. Most likely, the problem of your camera is related with the camera lens. Probably you took you camera to the beach or a place were the camera was exposed to dust or sand and that can be one of many causes why the camera doesn't work. My advice is to go to a store that offers support of Casio devices. It's easier and it's most likely it's going to cost anything because it's on warranty... right?? :) At least here in Portugal all the hardware devices (included cameras and so) have, at least, two years of warranty!! ;) Regards
