Had to replace my Hard drive. How do I reset myself up with wireless access.

Purchase a wireless router and connect it to your incomming system. Make sure your laptop has the necessary hardware to match specifications with the router. Install Windows 7, it will probably already have the necessary drivers for your hardware. Read the manual to configure the router for WPA2 64 bit encryption and copy this information to your laptop configuration by using a pen drive.

My Belkin n fsd 8235-4 v2000 I keep losing my internet connection and having to restart many times daily already had the phone company here this am new modum

Hi!

If you have called your Internet Service Provider already and they said everything is working fine on their end, it is obviously a router problem. Since you said that you reset it already, this time you need to update the router's Firmware. Follow the steps below

Phone co installed COMTREND wireloess ADSL2+Router

I cant solve your trouble based on what you are telling me ... but I would make the phone company fix it if I were you. If they cant accomodate the paying customer, there is always the cable company as an alternative.

I lost my cd to install how do i go by installing this router to my new laptop

you said that you are to connect the new laptop to the router.
Do you have any other computer already working through the router ?
If your other computers are working through the router then your router already set up and you don't need to run the CD. all you need to do is connect to the wireless network.
If this is the only one computer in your network and you are trying to install the router then you can do it manually also without CD.

Short connection and then no connection

This is a problem with the firmware of the router, so the best way to resolve this is to flash or update the firmware of this router then after that reset the router by pressing the reset button for about 15 seconds so the firmware update will take effect....

2wire HomePortal replacement necessary?

how bout customizing the wireless settings of your 2wire first for a more stable connection. like change the wireless name from it's default and enable a wireless security. you can also change the wireless channel to minimize interference from other wireless device near your area.
if you have done that already, try to upgrade the firmware of your router to check that it's not a firmware issue.
if you have done everything to solve your concern, it's better to get a replacement.
i believe your home portal is a gateway. if so, you also need to have a gateway to replace it and a router is not sufficient.
as long as your laptop has a wireless card installed, you don't need any other equipment
hope this'll help you.
