After replacing engine, motor just cranks but wont start. The replacement was originally a DOHV . Converted to a DOHC by repositioning over head cams and timing chain according to specs. Crank shaft key way to 11' and both over head cams to 3' and 12' and match all marks. Can somebody please help.
Barring any vacuum leaks, P0401 is indicative of a bad EGR valve. Hope this answers your question. Best of luck.

SOURCE: I have 2000 Sable 3.0 DOHC with a code P1237.
Back in the trunk, on the passenger side, is a fuel pump module. The ground for the module was loose.

yes you migh have a broken cam with out even knowing
SOURCE: putting on timing belt .
The crank has got to be at TDC, with the marks lined up, the cams have to be lined up to their marks, then the belt will line up, If it doesn't line up, You will be walking home. If you have the old belt handy and the marks are still visible, compare them to the new belt, make sure they are the same. Pull the pin on the belt tensioner and you should be all set. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: replace timing belt. where are the timing marks on cam and crank
Don't know what size engine you have, so here's for a 1.8L and
