No audio I am no expert but I believe the fuse maybe blown out on my parent's Kenwood 1060vr. Can anyone help? Apparently my neice and nephew were playing with the cords in the back and now there is no audio whatsoever. I have tried disconnecting and re-connecting everything as far as I know how and there is still no audio. Please help, my parents need to listen to Salsa at least once a week or they lose their sense of self. Thanks, -Sandra Sanchez

Check all the push buttons and switches on the front of the unit are set where they should be set. In particular the speaker and tape monitor buttons. If there is a "pre out" "main in" set of jacks in the back of the unit, then be sure it is jumpered with stubs or if that unit uses a switch to perform the jumpering function be sure it is enabled. I hope this helps you.

Hopefully just a fuse.
A power surge could also have blown IC's on the deck.
It may also have a PTC, or resettable fuse.

I have a Kenwood 1060vr and I have no sound what so ever. There is a hissing sound from each speaker but absolutely no sound, doesn't matter the setting

Turn the volume control to something medium.

The errant switch, control or condition may change and you will suddenly release the amp's full power and possibly destroying your speakers. If a signal isn't audible at 1/2 volume it's probably not there.

Carefully examine the front panel for clues like a misplaced Mute or Tape Monitor control or Multichannel Analog Input selected.

There is a good chance that a common control may have developed a high-resistance or 'dead

NO SOUND OUT OF RECIEVER, TURN VOLUME TO MAX AND CAN HARDLY HEAR ANYTHING

TURN THE VOUME CONTROL DOWN TO SOMETHING REASONABLE. MAX VOLUME IS ONLY USED TO DESTROY SPEAKERS.

Unmute it, de-select Tape Monitor, de-select M.Input.

The amp is only putting out on 1 channel

I do believe this is caused by one of your amp fuses. Depending on which + on the amp is being used. That channel has a blown fuse. have you tried running + and -, + and - to both channels to see if both subs worked? If one sub doesn't then it's a blown fuse or scarred fuse and needs to be changed.

Amp won't turn on don't know if amp is fried

Very possible that you have a blown power supply in the amp. If you are running a mono amp then there is a very good chance that you have loaded your amp with too low of a speaker impedence and fried the power supply and maybe the output section of the audio area. Hope this helps.
