Wii will not load past Health and Safety screen.

I turn on the Wii Console, and it appears to load the Health and Safety notiification as always, however the prompt to press "A" never appears.

Hi,

Try a hard-reset. Unplug the console from the Mains For 5-10 Minutes.
Wii returns back to default settings.

Thankyou for Using Fixya.

My wii is saying the system files are corrupted. How can i fix it

Try pressing and holding the Reset button on the Wii Console while powering on the system (with console's power button, NOT the Wii Remote) then letting go of Reset after the Health and Safety screen appears.

I put new batteries in my wii remote and they are flashing but they aren't turning on

you probably have to resynch them. turn off the power button on console, then unplug from wall for 5 seconds. plug back in and turn on console. when the health and safety displays on the screen open the front of the console and press and hold the red synch button for at least 15 seconds. this clears all previous synchs. open the back of the wii remote and press and release the red button by the batteries. then press and release the synch button on the console. this should re synch the remote. repeat for any other remotes.

Wii lego game won't load

Hi there I had this problem as well and eventually realised you have to have the wii nunchuck attached before it will let you select, I don't think it tells you to but you do need it.

I cant choose anything on my WII homepage;no cursor

OK the problem is your censor. (if you dont know, its that long thin bar that comes with your wii.) there is really 3 things that could fix your censor: 1. move it because the censor cant read the controller, make sure the censor is plugged in, or get a new censor since its probably broken.

Did you download the homebrew channel? or tried to?
if you did then that is probably why it freezes

The screen goes blank, wii emits buzzing noise.

refrain from playing for a few days.

its what you call a black screen of death. it will keep happening until your wii stops if you dont refrain from playing for a while and obey the health/safety rules (sometimes the wiis pass becuase the health/safety rules hide the bsod) [health/safety rules: take a ten - minute break every hour.] BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR WII IT IS VERY FRAGILE IF IT GETS A BSOD!!!!!!! {fragile=easily damaged INTERNALLY}

Wii fit

Have had this problem before with wii sports. What I did was turn off the wii console and unplug from the power, leave for a few seconds then turn it back on when the health & safety screen comes up
  1. Turn the Wii console power OFF by pressing the POWER Button on the front of the console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet for a few seconds. After a few seconds have elapsed, plug the cord back into the wall outlet.

  2. Turn the power of the Wii console ON. When you see the Health and Safety screen, open the small flap on the front of the Wii console to find a red button labeled "SYNC." Press and hold the SYNC Button down for 15 seconds. This will clear all the syncs on the Wii, allowing you to get a clean start to begin the process described below.

  3. After holding the SYNC Button on the Wii console down for at least 15 seconds, you can now "re-sync" your Wii Remotes:
  4. With the first Wii Remote you wish to sync, remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote to find a small red button just below the batteries.

  5. Press and release the small red button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the blue lights on the front of the Wii Remote will blink.

  6. Quickly press and release the red SYNC button on the inside of the white flap on the front of the Wii console (picture).

  7. When the Player LED blinking stops and stays lit, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
