LG 48" tv works, but (this function is not available now.) keep flashing while on. No function buttons on tv or remote work!

Follow the steps below

1* Select any channel on the TV.

2* Point your Sky+ remote control away from the TV and press the tv button.

3* Press and hold down the Select and red buttons simultaneously on the Sky+ remote control until the red light at the top of the Sky+ remote control flashes twice.

4*Input the 3 digit number from the Sky+ remote control codes then press the Select button. The red light at the top of the Sky+ remote control should flash twice.

5* Point the Sky+ remote control at the TV and try the volume button.

If this works try the other TV functions.

If these work then the correct code has been selected.

It's important to note that not all TV functions will be supported by the Sky+ remote control e.g. Picture in Picture.

If all functions do not work correctly, then repeat steps 1 - 3 and work through all the relevant 3 digit numbers from the Sky+ remote control codes, until you find the code which supports all or as many of the TV functions as possible.

Take the battery out like about hour for a hard resetting.After putting the battery back in u should push the button that said TV only.The remote should be functions again for the tv again.

It would help to know the model number of your LG TV. However, you can try the generic codes for LG which I've listed here:

Rev 8 remote: 1293, 1206, 0206, 0065, 0904
Rev 6 remote: 0065, 0742, 0502, 0672, 0634, 0136,
Rev 4 remote: Same as Rev 6
RC1600/00 remote: codes not available and unlikely to work with your TV

Try these codes but if they don't work, please post back with your TV model number. It's possible that your remote does not have a code which will work with your TV, in which case, you will need to use the remote supplied with your TV to control volume and power functions. Unfortunately, when a TV is newer than the remote and uses a new flash pattern not programmed into that remote, the remote wont work. However manufacturers often keep the same flash patterns for common functions, so the generic codes might work for you.

I'm informed that a new Sky remote version is due but I've not been able to confirm this yet.

OK, as you already discovered there is no specific code for your remote. You can try the generic codes for LG which I've listed below. Your TV may use the same flash patterns as some other older LG TVs so these codes might work.

If you look on page 48 & 49 of your LG TV’s user manual, you will see your TV remote and a description of the buttons.
Your particular remote does not have a previous channel button or function. That backwards arrow button is to return one step in an interactive application or other user interaction functions.
However, if you get the full size LG TV remote it does have a “FLASHBK” button that will go to the prior channel. Some programmable TV remotes have this feature too.
You can go to the TV store and ask to use the larger LG TV remote that has the “FLASHBK” button on your TV on display to see if your TV will perform that function.

unplug the TV. hold down the power button for 30 seconds. plug the TV in.

HI THERE, I FIXED THE PROBLEM MYSELF BY KEEPING THE FUNCTION BUTTON ON THE DVD PLAYER PRESSED UNTIL IT FLASHED ""MODE"". THEN I PRESSED IT IN SEQUENCE TILL IT CAME UP WITH DVD/TV THEN IT AUTOMATICALLY SWITCHED OVER TO THE DVD FUNCTION MODE. ALL DONE. BUT THE TV/DVD BUTTON ON REMOTE STILL ISNT FUNCTIONING OR CROSSING OVER CHANNELL. HAVE TO DO IT MANUALLY VIA DVD PLAYER. EVERYTHING ELSE WORKING EXCELLENT. THANKS ANYWAY.
