First of all, make sure your batteries are fully charged.
If it's still stuck, you could try hold the lens with two fingers, and when you turn the camera on, you **** the lens around just a little bit. Do not use a lot of force, just slightly **** it around. That might unfreeze it.
If that won't help, I'm afraid you're going to have to bring it to a camera workshop.

Lens error, restart camera.

I had the same problem with my powershot and with the batteries going bad super fast. The way to fix it is to empty your memory card of all pictures then put it back in the camera blank. That should take care of the problem and should pro;long your battery life as well.

Canon digital IXUS 60. Lens does not move in and out. Camera turns on but nothing happens. Unable to take photographs. Error message:- Lens error restart camera. Restarting camera does not resolve problem

I'm guessing that the lens is stuck. Either the cover refuses to open because something is wedged in or a mechanical malfunction. The camera won't work if the lens does not come out a bit. Take a look at the lens and examine why the cover doesn't open up. If it is a mechanical malfunction (meaning internal problem), might as well have it fixed. Be careful and keep your fingers off the lens. You may touch the cover but hands off the lens. Hope this helps.

It sounds like. You really need to have some one take it apart and clean the sand out of it. The camera will make those noises when the sand gets between the gears of the lens assembly and they cant connect correctly.

ou could try helping the lens go back in GENTLY. But thats risky and you could ruin a lens that would work just fine if it where cleaned out.

let me know which model and brand you have and I could tell you better whether or not you should try anything your self.

Lens Error, Restart

Hi

What you are seeing is a generic stuck lens error message, turning off the camera and turning it on again will not fix the lens unfortunately.

Your lens needs to be cleaned or repaired, and if it cant be repaired it needs to be replaced. There are online places that will do it for a decent price and there are others that overcharge by way too much.

Fixya rules prevent me from giving you a link to anything off Fixya that would help you fix your camera.

Good luck from....
