Saitek st290 pro new. i downloaded software from web site it will workk on keyboard i cannot grt joystick work simulator.
There is a fix for several Microsoft combat flight bugs, some of them are about controller compatibility problems.
Download the patch from Microsoft here.
If that does not fix the problem contact Microsoft.
When I buy new hardware like a joystick for my computer I sometimes spend hours and days trying to install it myself without any LUCK until I call the manufacturer directly and ask them!
WHAT SOFTWARE DID YOU DOWNLOAD?
FROM WHAT WEB SITE DID YOU DOWNLOAD IT?
I hope this is helpful!
Good Luck!

Go to control panel, click on game controllers and set it up,if it doesn't show up there,You will need to go into your device manager and see if it is there. If not there, you need to un-install and reinstall it.
What windows version do you have?
Try Unplugging The Joy Stick Then Reboot Once You Reach your Desktop Plug The Device Back In And Check For Operation.
Hi there
If all the good advice given by my colleagues has not worked then the joystick is faulty or the operating system does not support the joystick, for example, if you use Vista and the joystick was meant for XP, make sure the joystick is compatible with the operating system you are using, if it is, then it could be a fault with the joystick itself.
Good luck
Hello and welcome to FixYa!,
1) It sounds like a Faulty JoyStick but just make sure it is Compatible with the Game- It might be a Compatibility Issue
Hope this helps --P3NGYJ03
Faulty stick replace it.the only option.
Hi Have a look here for its drivers to download.
The joy stic and the windows verion on which you r using it must be having any particular software conflict on it or the both r not compitable with each other.just check out the sdame joystick at any other pc and confirm the fault.
First thing you need to do is to install your joystick on your PC. This is relatively straightforward in Windows XP, as it tends to automatically recognise 'plug and play' devices, otherwise you may need to install a 'driver', a bit of software that tells windows how to communicate with the joystick.
In Windows 98, you will probably have to install a 'driver' (check before you buy that it is compatiblewith win98).
once you have done that, you should be able to start the game, go to the 'settings' and check a little box that says 'Enable Joystick'.
Then click 'Game Controllers', which opens a 'wizard' that will show you if the joystick hase been recognised by your PC.
If it has, click 'properties' then 'settings' then 'calibrate' which will take you through the calibration process step-by-step.
--------
you have to go to settings on the main menu the controls and select joystick, enable joystick and/or calibrate joystick. If this doesn't wok then in gameplay push "alt" on your keyboard if the task bar for flight simulator isn't at the top. Once or if it is allready there select settings and then enable joystick.
The joystick may be faulty or it may not be made to run on the windows version you are running on.try re installing the software and see what hapens but i think its not made to work for your windows version
Check to see inside your game if you can see that the joystick is installed..if not check your device manager in the control panel(IF YOU HAVE WINDOWS) THEN GET BACK TO ME
Try unistalling..
reboot and see if it detects the device.. then if it does when it tries to install point the installation folder to C:\windows\system32 but only after reinstalling the software upon reboot.
Good Luck
please note..after uninstalling the software check in the device manager to see if the hardware-being the joystick sucessfully uninstalled itself.
If you can't fix it using my tips then I have reviewed some of the better joysticks out there and I came up with this one for 29.99 Its a logitech.
Sorry if you cant fix it.. Remember always spend the extra cash to get a better component that will be compatible and functional.

Welcome to Fixya! Go into the Control Panel in Windows. There is a Setting in there for Joysticks and Gaming Devices. Click this and Calibrate the Joystick. It should be fine, Just follow the Directions.
Fully remove the software for joystick by using ad remove programs. Then reinstall the joystick and go into setup for the game your trying to play (assuming simulator) Then look for your joystick and you should be good to go.
Is that a usb connector on it or a serial port ?
