Color of the picture is faded/green

My JVC DPL HDTV 61" was fine last night, all of the sudden the "color" faded. It is more green than anything and looks like 1950's color with very little variation between black and white. The other tv's in the house are fine. It isn't the "cable" Warner and it isn't the "light" which was replaced for the first time about 3 months ago. It just happened. I went through different prompts for tint, details, color, picture etc. Nothing changed it. Any ideas?

Hello Jdillon917,

I understand what you are saying, however the devil is in the details in reference to your problem. Let me explain, DLP Televisions use what is called "Color Wheel Technology". A wheel made up of primary and secondary colors spin at a synchronized rate with the Luminance Video signal and this along with the changing of the mirrors of the DLP processor creates the color that you see on the screen (This is a high level description, but it covers what is happening). Now what you are experiencing can happen if the sync between the signal to the color wheel and the DLP processor is off center, if the color wheel is out of alignment, or if the signal to the DLP is drifting. The bulb "light" is working but something happened to interfere with the sync between the color wheel and the DLP processor. I would suggest getting this looked at by a DLP qualified TV technician, because of the nature of this problem. In addition I would request that you have the technician do a certified alignment after the problem is taken care of.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Shuttle83

Green horizontal lines on screen no picture

The green CRT's (color picutre tube or color wheel, or ballast) will need to be tested for replacement.
It is quite common with these tv's

You will need an ohmmeter and or voltmeter and test each component for currency and accuracy
