It sounds like the locking switch on the side of the SD card is in the "locked" position. Remove the card from the camera and slide the tiny switch on the card to the unlocked position. That should do it.

Reformat the SD card with your computer. This will delete all data on the card. Do you use a usb cable to upload pics to your computer or put the SD card in a media slot? Either way, find the drive that corresponds to your SD card or camera in "My Computer". Right click on it and select 'format'. A new window will open with a check box for 'quick format'. Check the box and click OK. A prompt will appear stating all data will be erased. Click OK. In a few seconds, the card will be reformatted.

Easiest way to erase all images...go into the menu and scroll to "format"...follow the on-screen instructions.

Use a separate card reader to download your pics. Then, you can format the card in the camera to get it to work properly.
