I'm having problems importing wav. files from my computer into the RC-50. I choose a patch, eg patch 6, and set the tempo to that of the wav. file I wish to import. I set this by pressing 'tap tempo' and then adjusting the value dial to the desired tempo, and then I press exit or write - both seem to store the tempo I want. (I tried to follow setting the value dial by tapping the beat on the pedal as told in the manual, but this just seemed to alter the tempo as I couldn't tap exactly to the tempo I'd just set it to be).
After this I connect to my mac., open up the Roland icon, open the Wave folder, and drag the wav. file into the folder, ensuring it has been saved in the correct format (16bit, 44.1KHz, no compression format) and written in the correct format, eg 006_1.wav. I then eject the Roland icon from my computer and remove the usb cable (I found that I had to remove the cable for the RC-50 to recognise disconnection). I then go to play the imported wav. file and notice the time left on the patch is 4 mins less than before (indicating that my 4 min wav. has been successfully imported) but when I press play/rec/overdub pedal, nothing is to be heard and there is only a flat line below the word 'phrase' in the display window, where there should be the small circle which indicates there is a loop stored there.
I have only had success on two occasions, the first time I had to delete the imported wav. because the levels were wrong within the wav. file, and the second time the RC-50 was playing the wav. at a faster tempo than I had set it to. Only a little faster, but fast enough for my voice to slightly resemble a chipmonk. (Which is all well and good, but not the effect I was going for on that particular song.)

Hi I just got a RC 50 and I face the same problem but looking the content of the data in the Roland folder (after you connect the USB) , I notice the format of the label of each sound's and I understood the problem.
So , here it is .
Before you connect to USB , you have to choose a patch , let say n.16 OK, now the audio file that you want to import into the data folder must be named in this way "016_1.WAV" ,the 16 refer to the patch number and 1 is the phrase number (if you want to put the audio file into the phrase 1 ,or 2 if 2 ecc.)
now disconnect the USB .At this point you just have to increase or decrease the patch number just one time and go back to 16 (it has to refresh the patch info) and you'll find your audio file ready to use in whatever phrase you put it.

I had the same problem as you. I finally figured out that even though I was saving the wave as 16 bit I need to record it at 16 bit and not dither it form 24 to 16. I set my DP6 at 44.01 KHz, 16 integer, 30 FPS ND. Also if you are saving to patch 6 set it on patch 1 before connecting the USB, When you are done loading the file close all windows drag the Roland icon to the Trash/eject then press exit on the rc 50 and then write. This has worked for me, I hope it helps you.

I was having the same exact problem, but recently i figured out what worked for me. for whatever reason, removing the ".WAV" part of the file name made it appear in the play screen as desired. so for patch 1, phrase 1, name the file "001_1" in the 44.1khz, 16bit, uncompressed format. then move it into the 'wave' folder as before, end the usb connection, and it should appear on the rc50.

Upon exporting WAV. files from your chosen DAW, what levels are your audio regions hitting? How are you guys monitoring the volume difference between the WAV. files you pre load into a patch and the instrument you use to live loop on top?
Don't write .wav
Have you tried disconnecting USB on the RC50 (in the parameter section, "DISCONNECT" then NO:EXIT YES:WRITE, if I remember rightly. You may find that ejecting on the Mac prevents the RCA50 from completing the data writing correctly.

in any type of situation when data is being transferred and the
connection is prematurely lost there is data lost and or file
corruption.
My
suggestion:
Connect
the Boss Rc 50 to your computer and backup its entire contents to
your computer if possible.
Next
perform a Hard Reset: While simultaneously holding down the "PLAY
MODE" and "LOOP SYNC" buttons, turn the power on.
Everything should be restored to factory settings.
If
your backup was successful, then you can transfer desired files (one
at time) to determine if the are usable. If a file causes errors or
malfunction, then most likely it is corrupt.

I'm having the same problem Louise, I've ensured that the files are exported and with the correct name and bit rate but when I disonnect the files don't show up in the loop station - can't figure out why either
I am having the exact same problem. The manual has to be leaving something out. I've gone through the process a hundred times.
I've had the same problem, maybe it's me but i can't even get mine to play at all. I can't even see that it's there. Shouldn't there be some indicater telling me that the download of my own wave-file are successful.
i have the RC-2, and it wont even work. when i plug the input it, it will turn on and off really quickly.
