I have an RCA Lycra RD1021 to which I have added a 1 gig Sandisk SD card. Why will the RD1021 player not recognize more than 179-180 songs? I have downloaded 302 songs in mp3 format to the card and I can view all 302 songs on the card when I have the Lycra connected to my computer via cable. I have verified that the card itself is not full. It is only half full. The rest is free space. But my player only recognizes 179-180 of the songs. If I go to add new songs ones, they show on the card in addition to all other songs, but the player seems to only like 179-180 songs. By adding a new song, it still only allows me to see 179-180 songs and now I can play the new song but one of the original 180 is no longer available on the player. I'm thinking that the player only holds 179-180 songs into memory and that is all it can hold, so I never can play the other 122 songs that are on the card. NOTE: I can play any of the songs on my computer from the card so I know they are in the proper formats and not corrupt. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Try updating the firmware, you can download it from the RCA Website (http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/).
If your computer doesn't recognize the player, you'll have to turn it
off, remove the battery and keep "PLAY" pressed for 10 seconds while connecting it to the
USB port, then update the firmware.
