I get toner residue on my paper

Hi there!The problem is in you magenta toner cartridge.It happens when a cartridge is refilled or it has damaged PCR.The best way to fix this is by changing the magenta toner.If you have other questions pls feel free to ask!

See if that is not pink spilled or destroyed ..

Error code 9-355 indicates, the magenta toner dispenser is broken and in need of repair.



Open the Front Door

From left to right, the Toner Cartridge colors are Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black.


As a pre-caution, place a few sheets of paper on the floor, under the Toner Cartridge area, to catch any toner that may spill.



Remove the Toner Cartridge by rotating the handle to the left until the handle is in the unlocked position.



Pull the cartridge completely out of the machine.

Check for any obvious damage in the cartridge or printer and reinstall. Replace cartridge if damaged.

If error message continues, call a qualified repairman.

This is because the toner to be solid, due to long period of disuse

Well, if the toner light is on, you're probably out of toner and the only reason it ran, was because it was low but not completely depleted.

Try new toner drum off of Ebay or Amazon for the best prices for your brother printer.

This means that the problem is with the toner drum. Just try to clean the drum of the toner with cotton. It is green colored rod in the toner. then try to take the print. If still you get the line while printing please either replace the toner or get the drum replaced from a local vendor

Make sure the transfer belt is clean. Also check the magenta cartridge and see if it isn't leaking slightly. By all means DON"T blow it out with compressed air! You may use a toner vacuum or a soft cloth to clean out any residual toner. If that doesn't do the trick, you may have a contaminated fuser. By the way, do you get the same effect when printing black and white?

The C531 uses 4 toner cartridges and 4 corresponding imaging units. Each imaging unit has a waste compartment for the residue toner not transferred to the Image Transfer Belt (the waste bottle is for waste from this ITB). The residue toner could be reused.

It does not sound right that after 3-4K pages you have to change the IU. Just to be sure the IU you replaced looks like this?

Each IU should last about 50K pages (ie to be replaced after 5 toner cartridges).

Try doing a few calibrations.If this doesnt work then change the Magenta cartridge. It sounds like the cartridge is faulty.

There is not clean cartrige button.
If you want you can try to remove the cartridge and clean it with a paper towel, and see if that helps get you to 300 more sheets, if not I would replace it.
