Dishwasher leaking at lower door seal

I have a GE Profile PDW9980NOOSS dishwasher and there is a tear in the lower door rubber strip that's allowing water to leak out. I looked at several parts distributors, but can't find just the strip. Do I have to order and replace the whole inner door assembly or is it possible to find this part and just replace the seal?

I had the same problem and replaced the door seal. You need to remove the front door to do this. Requires some 'handyman' experience.

SOURCE: dishwasher leaking around the bottom of the door

I had the same problem in 2004, lots of Bosch trained repair techs, calls to Bosch, and the appliance dealer we purchased it from with no answers. Our kitchen cabinet bases were ruined by the flooding that occured. After months of trying to get help I insisted on speaking to a supervisor that told me it was my fault for putting a flexible cutting board on the right side a blocking the vent. I told her that no where in the manual did it mention this issue and none of their trained techs were aware of this flaw in their design. When I asked about getting my cabinets repaired she said that was not an option. When I mentioned possible legal action her response was "good luck with that". Here it is 2009 and they recently called about a possible fire hazard recall for the control panel. The Bosch trained tech that came out to complete the repair knew nothing about the vent/flooding issue.

Why does water leak out all over the floor from the dishwasher while in use. It seems to happen only in certain phases of the cycle. Please help. Thank you.

Normally, when a dishwasher leaks it is a result of two easily checked items. The seals around the door and the door latch. The the door seal has a tear in it or is worn or even folded over, it does not form a tight seal, so when the dishwasher goes into a spray mode, it leaks. Another item is the door latch, if it isn't tight enough, it will not be tight against the seal.

We have a GE Dishwasher Model # GSD 2000 Z02AD - water leaks

If your dishwasher leaks, check these:Main tub seal
Door gasket or seal
Water-inlet valve
Hoses

Main tub seal
Note… If the main motor of your dishwasher is mounted vertically, beneath the center bottom of the dishwasher, the following instructions probably apply to you. But if your motor is mounted horizontally, the pump isn't serviceable--you need to replace the entire pump and motor assembly.

The main tub seal is beneath the drain impeller. It prevents the water in the dishwasher from leaking out near the shaft of the motor. To get to the seal, which is inside the dishwasher, remove the:

1. Lower rack
2. Spray arm
3. Spray arm support
4. Wash/drain impellers

Then pry the seal out of its housing and replace it.

Door gasket or seal
Over time, door gaskets and seals harden and lose their ability to seal properly. You can't repair the seals. You need to replace them if they've begun to leak.

Water-inlet valve
The water-inlet valve, itself, seldom leaks. But, the water-supply line from the house and the rubber tube leading from the valve to the inside of the dishwasher may leak. Tighten or repair/replace these as necessary.

The water-inlet valve could mechanically stick open. When that happens, the water continues to flow into the dishwasher, which then floods your kitchen. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher, and replace the valve.

Hoses
Behind the lower access panel on your dishwasher are several rubber or plastic hoses. If the leak appears at a connection, try a new clamp. If that doesn't work, replace the hose.

Leaking water

hi there,
dishwasher leaking might be due to either of these causes, check these:

Then try the seal out of its housing and replace it.

Door gasket or seal
