Jenn-Air Model CVG4280W gas downdraft cook top front burner does not light even though gas is going to it. The back burner lights perfectly. The same happens on the left side burners. What part do I need?

Either the potentiors or the simmer control.

SOURCE: No Ignition

Dirt. Spilled oil, grease, milk etc. act as isolator and prevent contact between burner and casing (mass). You need to clean up burners, scrub all the dirt and make sure their seats are cleaned too (brass elements below burners).

hi im gerbee,i will sujest to clean the area were is the place of ur knob control try to remove the control knob then clean it by using a vaccium coz sometimes the problem is very dirt of the control knob.

I had the same problem. Went to an appliance store that carries Jenn Air. Replaced both plug in units. Now they work perfectly and it cost less than $350 total! Good Luck!

Gas burner won't light unless gas is turned down to the low position.
I've had this happen before,first make sure that the black burner cap is clean underneath and it's making good contact with the aluminium burner,also make sure the igniter is sparking across to the burner, check the ceramic coating around the igniter isn't cracked or the wires shorting out . Make sure there is no blockage of the burner near where the spark jumps. All it takes is a drop of water to stop the gas flow near the spark. Most likely you can use a knife or some other thin blade to clear the slots where the flame comes out of the burner.

I have a Jenn Air gas cooktop, only about 2 years
If the burner just clicks and won't stare try this (a local tech showed me) Scrape the underside of the burner cap (the removable black disk in the middle of the burner) with a key or knife and watch it work! But be ready to do it again and again. There's a glossy finish left by the factory he said.

All cook top burners spark when any is turned on
OK, the best action is to call for service, if the unit was just installed, and purchased. This unit should be covered at this time, by the manufactures warranty, or store 30 day warranty. This repair should be free. The culprit will be a faulty spark ignition switch, and module. Testing is required. Once this switch, or(module), is replaced, the unit will operate correctly.

Downdraft comes on when front left burner is turned on. Just rented house, did it the 1st time I used the cooktop. several times after the downdraft worked independently and now (apporx 4th time) downdraft...
Typically the Jenn-Air has a grill on the left hand side and the fan is suppose to come on when that burner is turned on.

Bad ignitor needs replacement
it may just need cleaning at where it sparks to the burner if it is sparking back down the electrode then it is cracked . Some igniters pull out others have a screw that holds them in.

Downdraft Slide-In Range
I have the radiant cooktop (i.e., glass top) version of this range. I've had this same problem since I first purchased this unit. I wondered why no one answered this question, as I check back to see from time to time. I finally contacted Jenn-Air's online support. My conversation was as follows (I'm not entirely sure that the tech support knew what she was talking about, but here you go anyway):

Jenn-Air electric stove top - burners/fan won't come on
you may have lost a leg of your 240V service. make sure you have 240 to the appliance and then start chasing down where you lost it. there is no onboard trip or reset on this unit
