Customer Service Information

Before Calling for Assistance

Please read before calling:

• The mixer may warm up during

use. Under heavy loads with

extended mixing time periods, the

top of the unit may feel warm to

the touch. This is normal.

• The mixer may emit an odor,

especially when new. This is

common with electric motors.

• If the flat beater hits the bowl,

stop the mixer. See page 10 for

more information.

If your mixer should

malfunction or fail to operate,

please check the following:

• Is the mixer plugged in?

• Is the fuse in the circuit to the

mixer in working order? If you

have a circuit breaker box, be

sure the circuit is closed.

• Turn the mixer off for 10 to 15

seconds, then turn the mixer

back on.

• If the problem is not due to one of

the items mentioned above, see

Customer Service Information.

• DO NOT return the mixer to the

retailer as they do not provide

service.

If you have a question about your mixer, call our toll-free customer service

number. Before calling, please note the model, type, and series numbers

and fill in that information below. These numbers can be found on the

bottom of your mixer. This information will help us answer your question

much more quickly.

Warranty

Hi DAVEF159, Happy New Year! I’m sorry to hear about your new mixer. To answer your basic question, yes this is covered under warranty. By the description of your mixer’s symptoms it sounds as if your transmission has locked up or a gear has failed, which it shouldn’t do. This would cause the planetary/agitator shaft to stop rotating.
Since it is under warranty, contact them immediately and tell them about your problem with the stir speed not working. The KA website is at: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home.
Click on Customer Care>Contact Us> and you will find the toll free phone number listed to speak with someone. You can also look under the Warranty & Service Plans to see what KA will do for you. I've extracted parts of it here:
Hassle-Free Replacement Warranty
We’re so confident the quality of our products meets the exacting standards of KitchenAid that, if your mixer should fail within the first year of ownership, KitchenAid will arrange to deliver an identical or comparable replacement to your door free of charge and arrange to have your “failed” mixer returned to us.
Your replacement unit will also be covered by our one year full warranty. Please follow these instructions to receive this quality service.

If you reside in the United States and your KitchenAid® mixer should fail within the first year of ownership, simply call our toll-free Customer Satisfaction Center at 1-800-541-6390, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.,
Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Eastern Time. Give the consultant your complete shipping address. (No P.O. Box Numbers, please.)
When you receive your replacement mixer, use the carton and packing materials to pack-up your “failed” mixer. In the carton, include your name and address on a sheet of paper along with a copy of the proof of purchase (register receipt, credit card charge slip, etc.).

I hope this helps. Good Luck with KA! - Howard, Burke, VA

Mixer runs ,then stops, and now has lost all lower speeds.

Hi DALE, from the symptoms you describe, it sounds like you've got problems in your (speed) control assembly. If your mixer were out of warranty, I'll tell you that you could fix it yourself, but as your mixer is less than one year old, let KA fix it or replace your mixer on their dime. Contact them immediately and tell them about your problem with the speed control.

I used my machine tonight and now it dripping

Hi, REDASPEN100. Sorry to hear about your mixer’s leaking grease (oil) from your planetary/agitator shaft (‘metal finger’). It can be a distressing sight, but there’s no need to panic. You say your mixer is almost brand new. Is it still under warranty (you’ve owned it less than one year)? If the answer is yes, then I’d let KA fix it or replace your mixer on their dime. Contact them immediately and tell them about your problem with the oil leak.

Euro-pro hand/stand mixer

I just ordered new beaters for my Euro-Pro EP546 hand mixer. Their website is
euro-pro.com and their telephone # is 800-798-7398. I clicked on Customer Service on their website and asked for assistance, but no one responded. Using the toll free number got me to a live person who took my order over the phone. The replacement beaters are $7.95 plus $4.95 S&H plus tax. Try it.
