52 inch rear projection tv turns off after a minute

I have a 52 inch JVC TV. When I turn it on it stays on for about 1 minute then shuts down. The blue and red lights stay blinkinking on the front of the tv. I have a jvc 56 rear proj hdtv and it is about 8 years old. The past month it too is just shutting off alot whenever. Usually when it is first turned on and sometimes the front panel power light will blink and the only way to reset the tv is to unplug it and plug it in again. Any advise would be appreciated
