I have an ASKO D1986 dishwasher. Now suddenly the water pump runs constantly, it happened at the beginning of a wash (I guess the machine starts by draining any water before the actual washing). It is running no matter what I do, even if the door is open. All 8 LED's are flashing. If I press the start button for about 5 seconds (should be reset?), the pump is still running, but now the 4 LED's to the left are flashing, the 4 LED's to the right are constant on.
The pump itself works fine, if I pour water into the machine, it drains. I suspect either that there is a sensor that should indicate that there is no more water that is faulty, or that there is a shortcut somewhere keeping the pump on, but this are only my guesses...
So, after cleaning up the water (I found the easiest access from behind the machine), the problem was fixed.I actually found the solution in one of the other articles: http://www.fixya.com/support/t329228-asko_1805_frozen

Hi there, Im looking at buying one of these second hand. I don't know how water and energy efficient it is, nor its years of manufacture or original price. Would anyone here know? Thanks very much for your help.Hi there, Im looking at buying one of these second hand. I don't know how water and energy efficient it is, nor its years of manufacture or original price. Possible drain(float) switch on all the time, disconnect the float switch wires and try again, if problem solved, then replace the float switch.. good luckPossible drain(float) switch on all the time, disconnect the float switch wires and try again, if problem solved, then replace the float switch.. good luck

Most likely is activated overflow system.
This means water leaks under the dishwasher and is activated drain pump to prevent flooding. The simplest is to lean on either side the dishwasher so if there is water on the floor, that's it. Now you need to identify and repair the leaks. You can not be excluded that a defective triac by driving the drain pump placed on circuit board. It very rarely happens and some brands signals a failure by display or LED diodes .
There is water in the lower pan that you must access by removing the toe kick plate and then the panel behind it. you will see water in the overflow area. Clean that out and all will be well. Asko's are awesome dishwashers that capture any water they may overflow or leak internally instead of it going on your floor, then a float switch triggers the F2 error and runs the drain pump.
sounds like you have a water leak. The machine is fitted with a leak detection device that runs the drain pump constantly as a safety mechanism. If you want to look your self you will need to pull the machine out and tilt it back and if possible remove the bottom panel, should be 4 screws, this gives you access to the components. If it doesn't come off then you will need to remove either 1 or both of the side panel, its just a number of screws holding them. Then see if you can see where the leak is coming from, you may need to order a new part. Hope this helps.
Most likely the circulation pump. On this pump there is mounted a condensator. This will help the pump to get started. If this is broken, it wont circulate the water up to the sprayers.
If water gets onto the pan under the dishwasher, there is a styrofoam float that rises and hits a microswitch that causes the dishwasher to drain constantly so that you don't get a flood in your kitchen. Mine has done this when I splashed out water from a bowl that had overturned during the wash and was full of water and when I had some water deposits built up on the door seal that let water through. Sometimes the foat will hang up and I have to wiggle it around to get it to fall back down.
Yes, Asko dishwashers can leave a small amount of water in the sump after a cycle completes.
At the beginning of most cycles the sump is pumped and new water added.
i think you are hearing the drain pump going. take the bottom front panel off so as to expose the bottom tray. yoy willprobably find this full of water. mop water out and it should work. if fault reoccurs then you have a leak.
turn power off first
Remove the backpanel of the machine, and look if there is water at the bottom of the machine. If so, use a towel or so to dry up the water. This should solve the prob.

Solution was as commented above.
