SOURCE: Toro leaf blower has spark but will not start

Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:

You will need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner. Make sure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to see daylight through it.) Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152), to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.

Just let me know if you need further assistance.

SOURCE: craftsman leaf blower wont start

The air gap for the ignition coil core to flywheel is adjustable on some engines and the gap does vary.
On a Stihl, I used a matchbook cover first, then doubled it and got the engine to start. That amounts to 8-10/1000ths (0.008-0.010") as measured with a digital caliper after-the-fact.
I'm troubleshooting another engine currently from a McCulloch Airstream IV that only has ~12 hours and no spark but the coil measures roughly as it should; around 1K Ohms. Was surprised to find the company went bankrupt in '99. Another one killed by Asians and fairly poor design.

Toro model 51575. Was using it as a vacuum and it just shut off. Checked breakers ...all ok. Plugged it in direct to outlet and still nothing. What might be the problem?

If you're Toro electric blower is slowing down, throwing sparks, or not starting you may need to replace the carbon brushes. Replacing brushes and cleaning commutator early can prevent damage to motor armature!

There are Electric Motor replacement carbon brushes on E-bay for all three motor sizes (7 AMP, 10.5 AMP, and 12 AMP) of Toro Leaf Blowers (Toro Rake and Vac Super and Ultra Blower Vacuums)
Search E-bay for: "Toro Blower Carbon Brush"

- 12 Amp leaf blowers Toro Super (Old model 51552) through Toro Ultra (New model 51609).
- 10.5 Amp leaf blowers Toro Old through Toro New model 51573.

Will not start. few months old. maybe bad gas

Basics to check:
1) Spark plug - brown or dark brown - OK
a) is it carbon or fuel fouled
b) is there spark

2) Muffler remove for inspection
a) exhaust screen clean or plugged
b) inspect cylinder wall/piston as the flywheel is slowly rotated
3) Check cylinder compression

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
Chain Saws:
5) check impulse tube and intake boot for cracks or leaks
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
6) replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

I am gettinno spark from the spark plug I have put in a new plug,

first check to make sure the on/off switch isnt shorting out anywhere. try resetting the gap between the flywheel and the igniton module. you can use an index card or manilla envelope to set the gap. if it still doesnt work try replacing the module
