Water container is leaking water from the valve

OK, I finally called Saeco. There are about four rubber rings that you need to get. The one for the water resevoir is a big thick black ring and once you get it and look at the new and the old, you can see why it is leaking. Anyway, fixes it no problem.
The overflow in the drip tray? There are two rings in the back of the machine that will fix that problem. Problem? I got them, but haven't put it on there because it very hard to get in there.
Last one, the ring around the coffee puck maker (what do you call that part) It's the piston that catches the coffe and raises up to tamp it down, then holds it as the water goes through. ANyway, big ring around that. If you aren't getting a nice crema on top, that ring will cure that.
I saw get all four, replace them all at once and then descale the coffee maker and be done with it. You'll be working like new in a few hours or maintenance. For most of us, it's been like 3 years anyway, time to do it.
Lastly, when you call Saeco, (Pronounced I found our SA Yey Co) ask for the directions for cleaning out the grinder. Even has notes on how to get it back together with all the adjustments in the right spots.
The rep on the phone says she likes this model better than most fo the new ones.

You need to replace the washer kit inside the top of the maker. Remove the 3 screws that fasten the top and lift it off. You will see the rocker leaver that allows the water to flow into the tank. At the point where the rocker stops the water there is a series of washers that degrade from the heat over time and allows the leak. The washers are very easy to replace. The problem is finding the washer kit. I found it at: www.buyitnow64.com for $3.95 plus shipping (FedEx is only $9.98). I bought 2 (one for backup) kits. The original washers lasted almost 6 years. I had repaired this problem before with a washer from my shop but it broke down rather quickly from the direct heat from the tank. This washer kit is a Bunn washer kit that is supposed to fit all Bunn machines both residential and commercial.
Hope this helps. It took me 2 hours on line to find the washers!

Hi I have had this problem twice....this time I took off the top of the maker to check it out and noticed something loose and this fixed the problem, on mine at least. Lift the lid and take out the two Phillips screws, and remove the grid. Take out the three (or four) Phillips screws on this level and remove the top of the maker. There is a tube, with a hex nut around it, under the swivel arm that shuts off the water when the lid is up. On my maker this nut was very loose, even though the seals were still good. I tightened it with a pair of pliers( don't over tighten) and it hasn't leaked since. I also cleaned the water tray out while I was at it , as it looked rather yechhy. Reassemble and put the screws back in (don't over tighten, as they are in plastic)

Please get the model and the date code from the bottom of the machine and contact customer serivce. Depending on the date code, there might be a seal kit available or the machine can be replaced at no cost if 3 years old or less. If it is over 3 years old and the seal kit isn't available, the machine will be replaced at a reduced price.
