CONSEW 206RB5 TOP THREAD NOT FORMING STITCHES AND BREAKING

BOTTOM THREAD IS STITCHING BEAUTIFULLY. THIS IS A WALKING FOOT MACHINE. TOP THREAD WON'T STITCH AND WHEN IT DOES IT'S VERY LOOSELY, UNUNIFORMED STITCH AND THEN THE DERN THREAD BREAKS.

You have your thread tension too tight that's why it is pulling the bottom stitch all the way through it looks good from the bottom but not good on top. Its pulled the stitch all the way through the material.
I had my own upholstery shop 18 yrs and tension gets you every time.Just loosen the top tension.

I'm having the same problem, the top string gets stuck in bobbin, doesn't complete stitch, then pulls down the fabric. I've tried every setting... tension even at 0.

[email protected]. this problem is driving me insane.... never had this problem with a brother or a singer but this euro pro is about to go through a window! Any ideas?

Consew 75T Sewing machine. Why does my Consew 75T stop stitching after making 10 or so inches of hem?

Is the thread breaking? Most sewing machine issues are caused by incorrect threading or incorrect bobbin tension and upper thread tension. Another reason could be that the bobbin carrier and shuttle are not properly latched in.

Or the machine just needs servicing and the timing done.

Consew industrial machine -Top looks fine but The bottom side looks like a snake

Your tension is too tight. Increase the tension to a higher number, then check the stitch with a scrap piece of material to see what the stitch looks like. Also your thread makes a difference.different treads on bottom and on top will make you stitches abnormal.

Top stitch is fine bottom is loose. Have tried adjusting tension but not working. If I get tension too tight breaks thread so I gradually change tension to no avail. Please help

Check your stitch sample. The loose stitches under the fabric--are they actually top thread???? Usually, stitch problems under the fabric is a result of a top thread problem. In this case, it could be bird nesting.

Remove the top thread from the machine.
Install a brand new needle.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot.
Rethread from the beginning.

Consew machine. My bottom thread has ball knots on the bottom. I have changed the needle and the top stitch is perfect. Please advise.

Re-check the thread that is knotted. It's most likely the top thread causing what is called thread nesting or what I term "thread barfs."

Thread problems appearing on the top of the fabric are generally caused by the bobbin thread. Problems appearing under the fabric are usually a result of upper thread issues.

Remove the top thread.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning.
Verify the thread path is correct.
Set the upper tension to the midway point.

I am using the walking foot for a quilting project that I am working on, however, the bottom stitching is just looping and can just be pulled away from the fabric.

Be sure you are using a brand new needle.

Remove the thread from the machine.

ALWAYS RAISE THE PRESSER FOOT and rethread the upper thread from the beginning. Make sure the thread path is correct.

Verify the bobbin is installed and turning the correct direction in the bobbin case and that the bobbin thread is threaded through the bobbin tension mechanism.

Set the upper tension to the midway point between high & low number--this may require some adjustment for your particular machine.

Pull the bobbin thread to the top of your sewing project before beginning to stitch.
How and Why to Bring up the Bobbin Thread

Re-test your machine on a scrap quilt sandwich (make sure the walking foot is installed correctly and that the presser foot is lowered when beginning to stitch).

Consult the owner's manual for instructions for presser foot pressure. The pressure may need to be adjusted because you are dealing with a sandwich that is thicker than regular fabric.

You may also try changing the type and size sewing machine needle you are using. Using a Top Stitch or Microtext needle will help the needle to penetrate the fabric sandwich easier. A Top Stitch needle has a larger groove to protect the thread as it pierces the fabric which helps prevent looping.

Also, verify the thread is not too small for the needle's eye.

Edge of fabric shows ripples, balanced stitch though both threads look tight

I would ease up on the pressure, and use a teflon foot or a walking (or even feed, same thing) to sew it.

Consew 220. I just bought it. No paperwork came with it. What is the proper way to thread it? Other adjustments necessary? Suggestions? Thanks for your help!

You can find a visual guide on the proper threading of your machine at http://www.sewusa.com/Threading_Diagrams/Threading_Pages/Consew_Sewing_Machine_Threading/consew_210_220_threading_diagram.htm. What other adjustments are you thinking of? If you have loose thread on the top or bottom, you would need to adjust the tension. The best way to do that is to start by having a different color thread in the top and in the bobbin. Then this little lesson on tension works the same with any machine.
Thread your machine with the presser foot UP. The disks that control the tension (threadgoes through them) are tightened up if the foot is down. Change the machine tension with the presser foot DOWN.Because the disks won't be engaged (see above) if the foot is up, the diskswon't move. Start at the middle setting, 3. Go up to tighten, decrease toloosen. Each machine is different, even 2 different machines of the same model. The best thing to do is start at 3 and use a different color in the top andbobbin thread so you can easily see what changes to the tension do to yourstitches. Now use a straight stitch a sew 3 or so inches. Take a lookat the top and bottom of the fabric. You don't want to see any (or at least notmuch) of the other color showing from the other side. Loops on the bottom of the fabric means you need to tighten(increase) your top tension. If you're stitches on the bottom are causingpuckering, then you need to loosen you're top tension. For the most part, youreally don't want to touch your bobbin tension-leave that to a repairtechnician. The factory setting shouldn't be touched except by someone whoreally knows what they're doing. Keep sewing a few inches at a time until you have the resultsyou want. Now you're tension is where you need it!

Free motion quilting skipped stitches, breaking threads

Might be that you need to lower the tensions quite a bit, you'll have to juggle with top and bottom tensions though, and experiment for just this operation with the Sensormatic.
