KDS-50A200 NO power up, red light flashes 5 times.
When I go to turn on my tv the green power light flashes for a while then the TV kicks off and the power light flashes red 5 times. Both fans in the back that I can see kick on. Any help on what the problem might be?

Had that problem and replace the lamp twice, I finally replaced the optic block.
It is quite involved to replace, if not technical get professional help.
The 5 blinks is indicating the lamp ballast needs replacement your model uses the Sony lamp Ballast 147401211 for sony models
KDF42E2000, KDS-50A2000, KDS-50A2010, KDS-55A200, KDS-60A2000, KDS-60A2010,

Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV requires service.
Check the fan that cools the bulb. It is directly behing the bulb. It should turn on when the power comes on. It apparently has a safety to protect your tv(and home). mine is in the process of going out. looking for online solutions as we speak.
