by touching the "power" button once more this should take it out of standby

This will have the service manual. If you are not experienced in this type of repair, it will probably be far less expensive to take it to a repair shop.

when the resistors are burned,means that the transistors are damaged, or the power module is damaged.
and in your case its the power module.

Good luck finding them, About the only way is if some one tuss one out that quit working, Evan the repair shops don,t keep that sort of stuff around they toss it out.

We have a similar problem, panasonic st-ch7 tuner, otherwise seems ok but only get static, like the aerial is absent. cd etc fineThere is a little "E" flashing not sure what that is

Hi Will, I searched for flat cables ,seem to no longer be stocked. If you are interested in selling the whole system let me know. I have one working condition with cables, would like to have spare units(parts). I will check one more site on cables for you.
