After pressing the "On" button of my Olympus FE-310 camera, it bleeps 3 times, a red light flashes, but nothing happens. No picture, no nothing. The lens shutter/cover remains partially open regardless. I have changed the batteries and it still has the same problem. I don't remember dropping it or anything either.
Fixed! Several people I've described the problem to asked me if I dropped the camera, and I honestly did not remember dropping it, but I could've just forgot that it happened. Later, (after this was posted) it slipped out of my hand and fell to the carpeted floor. When I picked it up, I noticed that the lens shutter had moved (to be closer together). I turned it on, and after a few automatic adjustments, the camera was working like normal again! Perhaps the same thing that broke it, fixed it!

hi
your camera has flash circuit defective. the red light flashed mean it is trying to charge flash capacitor in its circuitry. it might has flash pcb defective or just fuse brown. you can bring to local repair shop and they would charge around $35 to 75 depend on what they really want to charge.
Thanks and best regard!
Hi there the chances is LCD Damaged. but before that try to press Display button and see the result. If not thing going on then you need to replace the LCD or need a servicing. If you have any quarry ask me please.
mine does the same..
the manual says that the best batteries are the oxyride ones
i havent tried them but all the customer reviews say that theyre great with cameras that die out quickly
hi try to reset ur camera...To do such reset, turn on the camera and hold the menu button down for longer than 5 seconds. A message should hopefully come up on your LCD asking if you want to reset the camera. Select Yes... thank u!!! rate me!!
Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...
Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

The reset option is located when you hit the Menu button when in shooting mode - it is on the left hand side of the screen. You would click Reset and press Ok. It will show Reset Yes or No. Select Yes and press Ok. The camera will now be in factory default settings.
