My son's LeapPad is not recognizing game cartridges. We've taken an eraser to cartridge, used rubbing alcohol and used air can inside cartridge hole. Both game cartridges are new. First time we inserted them, we were able to play each one 1 or two times. After that, we had to work pretty hard to get cartridge to be recognized and when it did finally recognize it, we would select it only for the screen to turn black and return us to the home page. Now we can't even get the games to be recognized again.

On the laptop you may be able to go to the Recycle bin and recover your deleted files. Go to the trash can icon, click and it will populate a list of everything deleted. Select the files or programs you want recovered and that will take care of that. If you do not have an Icon it will be in your start up list. Just scroll and find it. The leap Pad I have no idea...sorry for that one.

You have to make sure that your Cartridges is clean. Try to vacum of blow both of the cartridge hole and also the place where you put the cartridge, Sometime very small tiny dirt will makes that the cartridge cannot be recognise by the console.
Instead of 1 starter game and a few demo game that you get from Leapfrog
Connect, you can also get more downloadable games for your Leapster 2.

Cleaning it with rubbing alcohol helped the LeapPad to recognize the cartridges but it still wouldn't open the game. My brother used a tiny flathead to pull the pins inside of the LeapPad up a little bit. The cartridge wasn't making full contact with a couple of the pins because the pins were pushed out of place, probably due to my son putting the game in backwards or sticking something else down there. Games are working great now!!
We had 2 brand new cartridges as well that would not work. After shining a flashlight into leappad2 saw that one little gold wire was bent differently, used a flathead to adjust it. Both cartridges work well now!
We have the leappad ultra and I just bought a brand new game cartridge and it won't work. On hold for customer support right now...
