I don't think so but go through your menu to see if the backlight is enabled. I have never heard of one burning out unless a surge or something fried the whole unit.
Pull the cover off the control panel. You will probably find a button which would be accessible from outside the panel with a paper clip or pencil but is unlabeled. On the board itself by the button, in small letters it should say "reset". Push the button and see what happens.
This isn't published in the owners manual nor can you find it from Jandy tech support, but my RS4, All-button has a small hole on the left side of the control panel. Insert a paperclip...it's a reset button and will fix a simple problem. My display screen was scrambled and it's working fine now.
