Video works perfectly in record and playback modes, but will not rewind a tape to the beginning. It stops with about 10mins. tape time to rewind, which it does slowly, but keeps stopping, if you continue to press the rewind button each time it stops. Sometimes when rewinding a tape from the end it will not enter fast rewind mode. Switching off then switching the machine on again gets fast rewind working but it still stops before reaching the beginning of the tape. Coincidently I have a Bush machine with the same symptoms.

try rewinding the tape and play it from the beginning.if still the same, video heads may be dirty and needs to be clean.i recommend you use a dry head cleaning tape.after which reinsert tape and play it again.if issue persists use a diff tape with previous recordings.if still no go,use new tape and try recording on it,play it back and check.if still the same your unit will require service.thanks:) hope this help.
This does require disassembly to remedy the problem. There are various possible fixes.
The most prevelant I have seen is cold solder connections of the board connector for the fpc cable from the top operation switch block ass'y. All you need is someone who can handle this task, like a professional. The controls that you are experiencing problems with are all linked with one cable and connector. One bad solder joint can cause serveral operation faults.

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if a blue screen is displayed when attempting to playback video from the camcorder.
Stop the tape.
Ensure the tape has been rewound to the beginning of the video recording.
Play the tape.
If the issue is not resolved, stop the tape and remove it from the camcorder.
Clean the video heads of the camcorder using a dry head cleaning cassette.IMPORTANT: Follow the instructions for use provided with the head cleaning cassette. It may be necessary to use the head cleaning cassette more than once per session.
Reinsert the tape into the camcorder.
Play the tape.
If the issue is not resolved, stop the tape and remove it from the camcorder.
Insert a different tape with video footage into the camcorder.
Ensure the tape has been rewound to the beginning of the video recording.
When you put the player into rewind, is it at the beginning of the tape that it ejects? If so, it may be because you have the machine in timer mode. If you have a pre-recorded tape in a VCR, it will automatically eject the tape because you`ve not to record on a pre-recorded tape. I hope this help, Ian
You can see an image in a camcorder viewfinder any time the camera's actually on in record mode, whether or not the camcorder is actually recording. So that's no guarantee.
Assuming the obvious (you have the right kind of tapes, they're not in write-protect mode, you rewind before playing, etc). I recommend that you borrow a tape of the same kind from someone else and check it on playback in your camcorder. This should lead you know understand if you have a playback problem or a recording problem.
In playback mode the lCD displays the battery time, hi8 symbol and the tape counter. all the functions work the tape will play, rewind, fast forward. The screen stays blank on playback and the tape counter stays at 0:00:00 eventhough I can see the tape turning. I also hooke the camera to my tv and I got no picture.
