Projector i have a sharp notevision xr-1s projector and it heats up really fast and then shuts off because the temperature gets way to high, what is my problem or how can i fix it?
Just recently my xr-1s has been shutting off with only about 5 minutes of operation. The temp symbal comes on once it shuts down the only way to get it to power up again is to disconnect and reconnect power cord. then the same happens. I cleaned out any possible debris from the inside and it still does it. its is rarely used as it is in our family room in the basement (which is climate controlled. I am at odds. I also have this problem. After 5 to 15 minutes the lamp goes off and the lamp light goes red. Have to shut down and restart and then same thing happens. if the line has a hazy edge, it may be that the light tunnel is collapsing or the dlp wheel needs to be replaced. if it is hard edged, it may be the dlp chip is bad.
