SOURCE: Documents scanned as 256 grey scale/TIFF show up as black pages.

Grey as you know is different shades of black. Uncompressed TIF can store this information. Compressed TIFF is not designed for this. Compressed TIFF is for blck & white only. Try JPG option. JPG can compress Color & Grey. For pure black & white chose TIFF compression.

Please run Scandisk on your computer. If the problem persists even after this, reinstall OS. You need to reinstall other applications also.

SOURCE: Problem with Canon DR9080C scanner and Capture Perfect 3.0 softwere

Do you have enough disk space? Check if your C; drive has enough space. Normally C: is used as 'scratch area'. Try scanning intoa different location.

Right side of document is black when scanning to print, umax 1220u

1. Fred's right about trying another computer, but you still may have wrong/ old driver- download demo version of Vuescan at www.hamrick.com and see if it's your software.
2. Partially blank pages can appear when you don't have sufficient memory for the scan, but that usuall loosees the lower half of the page.
3. The lamp is probably not the problem, because there is enough liht bouncing around in mostflatbead scanners that you would just see the image "fade"to black, not have a distinct line.
4. best bet is that something inside has come loose and is covering half the scanning sensor, or the mirrors that reflect the images to the sensor inside

Canon DR-2580C scanner only scanning half the page. What could be the problem?

Select Auto for page size. The scanning software displays scanned image in many options, including 'fit'. Choose 'fit' so that you see complete image.

We have a Canon DR-9080C scanner. When scanning in Duplex on pages with data on both sides, the back side of each page is coming out unreadably faint. The header and any overall large blocks of black on...

The Canon DR 9080C is a 'contact' scanner. There is no optical lens, instead it uses a technology called "Contact Image Sensor' or CIS. The page to be scanned must be close to the glass for a proper image. This is achieved by a full-length rubber roller just above/below the scanning module. The roller is spring loaded and in case it gets stuck, there wont be enough pressure on the document to keep it close to the glass. ensure these rollers are moving smoothly and if required clean them. The rollers are on the opposite of the Scanning module.

We have a Cannon DR2580C, it has been working well for several years. The image is now starting to fade on the right side, so we no longer have the entire image

I would try and clean both sides of the glass.
If this does not help, probably time to either replace or look for a replacement lamp

Canon DR-5010C when settings are changed to Auto Detection for page size gets an error message stating that "Scanning parameters are incorrect." I want to be able to scan stacks of paper of various sizes....

If you are using CapturePerfect 3, select page size as Auto-detection, detect size by Image width, Deskew by roller & Image, then you will get images exactly as that of the scanned image.
If you ae using CP2, then you can select Auto-detection AND page detection. The problem with CP2 is if the image is less than that of the guide-plate, you will get black background. You can clean this through software.
If you had select B&W scanning and chosen to save file in JPG format, the scanner will report error. JPG is only for Color/ Grey scale.
With CP2, I have observed that sometimes, the changes are not retained, unless you select 'default' first and alter the parameters. This is not found in CP3.

How to scan slides to photos to hard drive using canon canoscan 8400f

Your scanner came with some software inside the box. If this is a second hand scanner with no additional software download the drivers from www.canon.com and run the software accordingly.
Mac os X does not require this process. connect the scanner to your machine and simply load the slides in the tray scanner and use the application "IMAGE CAPTURE" located in local_disk/applications/
The pictures automatically load and you select to crop or scan as is.
Later the image will appear on the desktop upon completion of scan.
For windows: I made you a link for your convenience: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=351&modelid=10242

The scanner only scan one side fully

If the bottom is vertically split, then there could be some problem in the hardware (bottom scanning module) Check for loose contacts. If it is cut horizontally, it must be definitely loose contat problem.
