Hello, Did you try a different memory card ? could be you have one that is defective, This is not uncommon, they are mass produced like everything else and faulty ones are out there. Just try another card to see if the camera is working properly.

SOURCE: formatting a HP 4GB Memory card

The best thing that you can do is to try to format the card from a laptop with a built in card port or use a card reader and format it on your computer.

SOURCE: I cannot format my brand new memory card in my Kodak Easyshare.

Believe the 4 GB card is too large for this camera and internal camera software was not designed to format or manage so much memory.. try a fast SD under 2 GB.

Canon powershot A530 gives me memory card error works with my 16Mb SD card but not with my new 2GB SD card

If the original card works this could be an issue with the card itself. If you can, connect the 2Gb to a computer and see if it still gives you problems. While you have it connected 'Format' it. This is basically resetting the memory card. Try this.
Connect the card to the computer. Open the File Explorer, (the little folder shaped icon), at the very bottom left of the screen. The memory card should be listed in the box on the left side. Right click the card, (press the Right mouse button once). Another box should appear with a list including the word 'Format'. Click it and follow the instructions. When finished use the same Right Click method and 'Eject' the card. This just tells the computer your removing the card. Retry it in your camera.

Camera works oddly..

Format the card again.

The memory card should be formatted each time you finish transferring your pictures to your computer, in order to avoid exactly this type of situation.

I bought a new sd card for my camera...put it in camera and got a prompt on screen that said to format...I don't know how to do this..there is no button to push that tells me that it will formatoelke

Insert the memory card. Press the MENU button. Use up/down to highlight Setup (three horizontal sliders) and press the OK button. Use up/down to highlight "Format" and press OK.

Make sure you're using an SD card. If the card is larger than 2GB than it's actually an SDHC card and won't work in the C330.

I cant take picture just see them

The camera does not take a picture when I press the Shutter button.
• Press the Shutter button all the way down.
• Make sure you are in Picture Capture.
• The memory card or internal memory may be full. Transfer images from the camera to your computer, then format the internal memory or the memory card. Or replace the card with a new one.
• The camera may be processing. Wait a few seconds for the camera to finish processing the last image before taking another picture.

If this dont solve it, send us additional details in your description.

Format button deleted my memory card???

Format will wipe clean your memory-card like new - Always.
so normally avoid that button.

if you lost some photos using the format then there maybe some chance to get them back.

take out the card and put it in external card reader.

Now get hold of some file recovery software like 'GetDataBack for FAT32' (buy/borrow/steal :) ) install it on your computer, GetDataBack should be able to pull back the data.

Let me know if any more clarifications needed.

Pushed the Format button on my L100 Samsung Digital camera and my memory card was erased??? Please explain this?

formatting the memory card automatically erases all the files in the memory card.
it's like restoring the memory card to factory settings to be compatible with your camera.

when you format the memory card using the camera the camera erases everything then creates folders that the camera needs to store pictures in your memory card.

you can try to look for software that can TRY to retrieve the images but i cannot assure you that this will work
