If the machine is a Dell with DellControlPoint, open start, run then type msconfig and hit enter. Choose the Startup tab and find the startup item named "Dell" with the Command from "C:\Program Files\Dell\Dell Control Point\Connection Manager\Dell.UCM.exe" and uncheck the box. Hit Ok, then reboot your computer.

Sounds like it could possibly be virus related - try scanning with some good software (kaspersky, webroot, etc) and see if it picks up anything.) from my experience at work internet connectivity is a favorite target of virus infections.

hope this helps

Windows xp backup utility

1st possible solution: Check your hard drive(s) and partitions for errors. You can do this by going to My Computer > right click on a drive > Properties > 'Tools' tab > Check Disk or Check Now
2nd possible solution: You may have backed up your files from an NTFS system and are trying to restore to a FAT32 system. If so, convert your computer to NTFS by right clicking on 'My Computer' > Manage > Storage > Disk Management> Right click on your primary drive > and select convert to NTFS.

Jvm 102 my blackberry 8900

Hi,

Here is a temporary solution if you don't want to return your defective BlackBerry and loose all your informations:

JVM 102 error means that a .cod file on your BlackBerry seems to be corrupt. By doing the following steps, you will have a chance to backup your BlackBerry and re-install the OS.

1. Download and install JL_Cmder. You can find it on the web by Google it, or you can go to this web page: http://www.blackberryfreaks.com/JL_Cmder.html

2. Connect your BlackBerry to your PC.

3. Start JL_Cmder and select the option 2 (Event log).

4. Scroll down to the bottom of the log and look for "JVM Error 102." The line before it, should tell you exactly what file is causing the error. Save the file name; you will need it later.

5. Go to Start / Run, and type "CMD" and press Enter.

6. Change directory to the JL_Cmder installation folder.e.g., type: cd "C:\Program Files\JL_Cmder\" and press enter.

7. Type the following command to remove the corrupted file:javaloader.exe -u erase -f FILENAME where FILENAME is the name of the corrupted .cod file.

8. Disconnect your BlackBerry from your PC and restart it.

9. Now you should be able to start BlackBerry Desktop Manager and take a backup of your device. (Optional).

10. Reactive your BlackBerry

11. Restore your backup from BlackBerry Desktop Manager. (Optional).

Error unitialized corrupt boot structure detected biohd-4 boot path, keep getting this after trying to install windows 7, cant boot disk anymore so cant install windows 7

try repairing the file system using chkdsk with /f switch. However, it is strongly recommended to run this tool only if you have a full data backup
. To do so, click \'Start\' and then \'Run\'. You can then type \'chkdsk /f <drive name>\' in the \'Open\' box and click OK. Here, the drive name should be exactly what is appearing in error message. Alternatively, you can opt for deleting the corrupt partition provided the backup is available. If no good backup exists, you should consider to use a Windows Data Recovery utility. These are powerful and valid Windows partition recovery utilities built to scan the corrupt or deleted partitions and safely recover the lost data. The applications are easy to install and use.

Though i know i have done backup on acer aspire e571

Hello,

Your computer operating system is corrupt. Or maybe there is virus on your system that has made it corrupt.

Do you have any anti virus on your system? I will recommend that you try Avira Anti-virus. After you have installed the anti virus, use it to scan your system thoroughly and see if problem will persist.

If problem persist, then you will have to run the recover manager on your system. The recovery manager will help you repair and put your windows back to order, that is, to its factory default state.

Before you carry out the system restore, make sure you backup all your important files.

To do the system restore, click start menu, click all programs, look out for "Back up and recovery manager, click it and follow instructions.

I wish you the best.

Sierra Wireless Aircard 881 Most of the time you can repair the feature file by opening and closing AT&T Communication Manager (ACM). If that doesn't work try this... 1. Close ACM. 2. On you computer browse to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Communication Manager. 3. Delete the files called featuremanager.xml.rc4 and featuremanagerBackup.xml.RC4. 4. Open ACM. 5. If your still having the problem delete the entire Communication Manager directory in Application Data. 6. Uninstall and Reinstall ACM.
Try this and let me know if it helped you Thank you, Techlahj

Blue screen error 0x00000024 dont have recovery disk

This Stop message, also known as Stop 0x24, indicates that a problem occurred within Ntfs.sys (the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS drives).

Resolving the ProblemDisk Corruption. Corruption in the NTFS file system or bad blocks (sectors) on the hard disk can induce this error. Corrupted SCSI and EIDE drivers can also adversely affect the systems ability to read and write to disk, thus causing the error.
Check Event Viewer for error messages from SCSI and FASTFAT (System Log) or Autochk (Application Log) that might help pinpoint the device or driver that is causing the error. Try disabling any virus scanners, backup programs, or disk defragmenter tools that continually monitor the system. You also need to run hardware diagnostics supplied by the system manufacturer. For details on these procedures, see the owners manual for your computer. Run Chkdsk /f /r to detect and resolve any file system structural corruption. You must restart the system before the disk scan begins on a system partition. If you cannot start the system due to the error, use the Recovery Console and run Chkdsk /r.

Restoring files from the database

I suggest you use the Enterprise manager (gui tool to manage SQL).
Restoring a single table is not an option.
You can however restore a file or filegroup.
Make sure to backup before you start and NOT to restore database to its original name or original file location, to avoid acidents.
Normally you will have databases with only 2 files: the data at its Primary file group, and log file.
You may wish to create a new file group and move tables to the new group by recreating them there and exporting data from old table to new table. Then recreate indexes. This may prove to be complex as all tables and indexes have unique names and can't coexist with exact duplicate of them.

oh yea..... did I say backup?
well just in case backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup backup
but dont overwrite that backup
