The F50 error code indicates that the RPS (rotor position sensor) detects no motor rotation. Check to see if the basket spins freely. If not, you could have an item caught between the outer tub and the inner spin basket. A toy or other item underneath the washer could also prevent the basket from spinning and would result in this F50 code.

If the basket spins freely, you could have a wiring failure that would prevent the motor from spinning.

I keep getting the F50 code and I also got the SD code a couple of times. I followed the manuals directions and pressed pause/cancel and it still came back. We also unplugged the washer for about 30...

The "Sd" or Suds Detected error means that you used too much detergent. Reduce the amount of detergent that you use, and properly measure it.
When you receive the "F50" code, it means that the motor position sensor does not sense that the basket is moving. Remove any remaining packing material from the tub.

Hope this helps.. :)

Cabrio wtw6600sw2 f50 code.It spins freely.What now?

Any time you get a F-50 code on one of these, Whirlpool recomends you replace the control, wire harness, and RPS sensor if the tub bearing main shaft aren't binding.

I need the service manual for a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SW2 to find out what the code F50 mean and how to replace RPS sensor.

If not, you could have an item caught between the outer tub and the inner spin basket. Code f 50 on cabrio WTW6600SW2 what is the most likley cause

Silverdragon posted the following yesterday about this issue...

F50 - motor stalled The biggest problem with this machine is the rps sensor. If you pull the motor cover you can get to the rps. Then take the rps on and off about 5 times to remove a factory coating that keeps it from making the contact that it needs. For some reason the machine will work fine for several months after purchase before this occurs. After you do this it works fine. F50 f51 f70 codes

Washer whirlpool cabrio message code f50,washer

F50 - This is a motor stalled failure. If this persists you will eventually need to call in a service engineer to repair it as the machine will eventually stop working altogether.

Cabrio won't spin

Sd is displayed when the machine/motor control, by analyzing drag on the basket, detects a suds-lock condition, and is steady on while the control then runs a mini-clean out cycle. If the clean out cycle is unable to correct the over-sudsing problem, the cycle ends and Sd flashes in the display. This may signify: ➔ Load is bunched or twisted around agitator. ➔ Excessive detergent usage. ➔ Basket cannot engage during drain step. ➔ Mechanical friction on drive mechanism, not allowing basket to engage.

Whirlpool Cabrio code F50

I also had an F50 code on my Cabrio top load washer. Went through all the diagnostics, removed the tub, checked the motor, etc. After a lot of research, purchased a new control board (part #W10189966) and....it works even better than before....no more noise and spins perfectly. Very easy to install (3 screws and one bolt.) Please don't waste your time (like we did) checking all these other areas of the machine. The part was $155. (google it for best price new) and worth it if it will last another year or more...
