I just replaced the lamp in my Sony projector with the recommended LMP-H130. Two problems. 1. I, my wife and my son all agree that the picture is not as bright as it was prior to replacement and 2. I cannot reset the lamp timer in the projector for the life of me.

vsurg: It is the right lamp. Of that I am sure. The projector is a Sony VPL-HS51.

cmptrlink: To reset the lamp timer: 1) With the projector plugged in and turned off, press the 'ON/STANDBY' button to put the projector in 'STANDBY' mode. NOTE: You have to press the button on the projector itself, you cannot use the remote for this step (this
cmptrlink: is not clear in manual). 2) Now, using the remote, press the following keys in order: RESET, <--, -->, ENTER. 3) Timer should now read '0'.
