I purchased the bulb through electrified.com. OEM replacement for $249. Is there a difference between bulbs?

yeah the lamp should be purchased after proper specifing the device model, or the recommended lamp specified by the vendor
vsurg:
It is the right lamp. Of that I am sure. The projector is a Sony VPL-HS51.
cmptrlink:
hang on i will tell you the correct lamp number
vsurg:
Manual says LMP-H130.
cmptrlink:
is that the same one you got?
vsurg:
Yes
cmptrlink:
why dont you consult to a authorized sony service center.
cmptrlink:
the lamp no. LMP-H130. is correct. but there must be some problem with the lamp or projector! is the lamp was packed when you got it?
cmptrlink:
the projector normaly comes with 3 year warrenty
cmptrlink:
To reset the lamp timer: 1) With the projector plugged in and turned off, press the 'ON/STANDBY' button to put the projector in 'STANDBY' mode. NOTE: You have to press the button on the projector itself, you cannot use the remote for this step (this
cmptrlink:
is not clear in manual). 2) Now, using the remote, press the following keys in order: RESET, <--, -->, ENTER. 3) Timer should now read '0'.

We have the same problem the replace lamp light keeps coming on and our color is all screwed up.
same thing here, i replaced the lamp, and the picture is much darker. every time i turn it on, i get a replace bulb warning and do not know what to do.
Same problem. Great projector! Needed a bulb replacement after 2300 hrs. So, I replaced both bulb and filter, but the screen is MUCH darker, even with the brightness all the way up.
