Mitsubishi DLP (WD 65735) has no picture and no sound. Only a blinking green light that stays on for a few seconds then switches off along with the TV. Is this the "green death"?

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Have you ever replaced lamp? I would replace lamp with an OEM mitsubishi lamp assy and re-intialize set in service menu. That should fix it

Green light blinking is set trying to boot up, no boot and of course set will not turn on, boot should take seventy seconds or so from plug in, if it does not stop blinking that is called the blinking light of death, as so many had this problem, probable going to have to replace the chassis if it is original one and that is usually five hundred plus parts and labor, just Google the model number with problems to see what I mean.

all these sets have a boot up if unplugged.

If power is lost or disconnected when reconnected green light will blink for about 70 seconds (set is rebooting) and then go off allowing set to be turned on.
