Bose Acoustimass 6 No Subwoofer sound

Bought this system about a month ago. Was working fine until I noticed the base was no longer booming. On closer inspection I discovered there was no sound coming from the subwoofer on the Bose module. I doublechecked my cables, connections, checked through the menu for my receiver (Sony) and found no problem. The other mini bose apeakers work fine but absolutely nothing from the sub woofer. HELP! I'm about to drag it back to Circuit City but want to make sure it's nothing small that I've overlooked. Any advice will be appreciated.

We had the same problem, finally came to the conclusion the sub had blown, but then we thought we would check one last thing, even thought we had checked EVERYTHING, and we revered the speaker wire connections going to our reciever and that corrected the problem, the sub started sucking air and booming like it always did. sometimes its the simple things.

Take it back for refund or exchange without delay. Too many times, there are cases of faulty factory assembly. Most likely a poorly connected wire inside sub, which fell off after a few booms.

I have a Bose Acoustimass 6 Series III the receiver is Yamaha 3066, this system is a 5.1 surround sound. Then I bought a pair of Bose 901 Series VI Direct/Reflective speaker system with active equaliz

The setup is possible, but with several compromises. First off, to use the active equalizer, you'll need to insert this into one of the 2 channel AV channels limiting your listening with the equalizer to stereo only. The acoustimass subwoofer acts a driver/power regulator for the little cube speakers. It probably will not be able to drive the 901s at the correct level when attached to the Acoustimass unit as front left/right speakers. You could try running a dedicated set of speaker leads to the 901s which may work and still allow surround sound, but you'll lose the equalization capability on the 901s.

Please check if the AC cord of Acoustimass module has a good connection to AC outlet, also check all the connections specially the cable that goes to the system control unit jack, for your reference in the link below you can see and download the manual of your Bose system:

Bose Acoustimass 15 subwoofer is completely dead.

Clarify, did it ever work for you? Were both receivers used properly configured for the subwoofer? Did you also test the other speaker moduels running off the subwooferto see if they work?

Speaker Receiver setting
• Left and right LARGE
• Center LARGE
• Left and right surround LARGE
• Center surround* LARGE
• LFE/Subwoofer ON
With an Acoustimass 16 Series II system or upgraded Acoustimass 15 Series IlI system only.

Need longer ribbon speaker wire for Acoustimass 16

I have the same question. I just called Bose at 1-877-210-3782 (prompt 6) and they have two solutions:

1. 20 foot Input extension - $25
2. Input adaptor - $12 (you can run your own speaker cable to the input adaptor)

I am unable to get the required base sound from my Acoustimass 16

Read the clues - Out of Phase means you have one or more of the speakers wired minus (-) to plus (+) instead of like pole to like pole. Having any speakers out of phase with their counterparts can **** the bass response out of the room. Check your wiring.

Geiger counter sound from subwoofer

If it's a wireless system, the circuits are drifting off frequency or could be picking up interference from just about anything. If not wireless, you probably have a part (transistor or chip) inside that is developing noise by itself.
