Question about Dell Dimension 2400 PC Desktop
When i turn on computer a security thing pops asking for password for an owner. I simply pushed enter to bypass and logged on the desktop. Then i got a interent wireless card for my PC and tryed to goto interent explorer and the home page comes up anything after that a thing pops up stating that the security advisor will not allow me to view the page asking for a password, HINT being dog? I have tried to reset web settings, going to control panel to set up another user as administrator or change the settings for the owner as adm vs just having liminted privileages like it says. Please help me. How do i set up a master account. With out having previous owners information?
Open control panel and create a new user account with administrator privileges. Log off the previous user and logon to the one you just created. Then delete the original user and this should set everything as default for you the new user.
If the password prompt is in a browser ie, Internet explorer or Firefox you will need to remove the addon (sounds like parental controls).
The only way of changing the registered owner would be to complete a fresh install of windows.
