How to format when the 4gb kingmax micro sd class 4 HC can't be read

Hi Dear, Same Problem Happened With Me When I Inserted 4GB M-Card In Phone, Later On It Failed To Format And Whn I Use That Card In My Card Reader On PC It Waz Showing 1.8 GB,

I Guess Yu 've To Use 'HP Formatting Tool' To Fix It Up,

Before Downloading, Wanna Let Yu Know What Happened To My Other M-Card Whn I Used It...

I Had 2GB M-Card When I Formatted It On 'HP Formatting Tool'
Later On It Waz Showing 4GB, I GuesS Itz Only Coz That Version Of HP Formatting Tool Supports Only 4GB M-Card Coz It Waz Already Mentioned On That Tool On The Dialogue Box,

One More Thing That Yur Phone Might Not Supports 4GB M-Card And Made This Mess,

Try putting a tiny piece of scotch tape over the lock slider. See if that works.

The problem is that a 4 GB micro sd card is HC (High Capacity). You will need to buy a card reader that can read HC micro sd cards (cost +/- € 8).
Very important: check if your mobile phone works with high capacity micro sd cards because a lot of phones don't work with HC micro SD cards.

The Card Reader you are using is probably not compatible with SDHC Memory Cards (High Capacity SD). You may need to get an SCHC compatible reader or check the website for your product to see if the is a driver update. You can get a new reader for about $20 bones if needed. I had the same issue.

THe HC chip set for SD's and micro SD's have different programming in them and are unfortunately not backwards compatable with a standard SD host port. For you laptop, I reccoment getting a USB SD chip adapter. They're only like $6-$10 depending upon the brand. For your phone, however, I reccomend you take it back to the store for a trade-in on a standard SD chip, or for a complete refund so you can buy one from a store that carries standards.
