Each time after I turn off my Tv it loses the position of all channels, so BBC 1 moves from channel 1 to channel 20, ITV 1 from channel 3 to channel 23 etc. I have tried re-setting the channels, but as soon as I turn it off, it loses the position, always as above. Also I note on the menu, the country of use changes from the UK, to Austria, which just happens to be the first country on the list ! Can anyone help so I don't have to reprogramme the Tv each time. Many Thanks Phil
I had the same problem. I replaced the EEPROM marked U33 (it's a 24C32 in a smd package) and the TV worked fine.
BEFORE replacing the EEPROM you have to go into the Service Menu (hold down VOL- and CH+ on the local command) and take a note of all the values, specially the R,G,B gain and R,G,B bias, in the "standard" picture mode as well as in the "Cold" picture as well as in the "Warm" picture mode.
(if you forgot to do this, here are my default values:
R gain: 434
G gain: 482
B gain: 484
R bias: 270
G bias: 270
B bias: 264
then you put the "Cold" image mode and set again those values, increasing the G bias to about 300 and the B bias to about 310.
then put the "Warm" image mode and set again those values, increasing the R bias to about 300 and the G bias to about 280)
The other values such as brightness, contrast etc, have to be left at 50.
I hope this solution will FixYa!
My Acer TV AT3201W seems to have the same main controller board as the AL2671W and has a serious design bug. The serial I2C EEPROM chip 24C32 contains all the settings. It has a write protect pin and has guaranteed 1 million write cycles. However the firmware of the TV writes about every second into the chip. This can be observed by connecting an oscilloscope to the WP (Write Protect) and the I2C signal pins. After 1 million second watching TV the 24C32 chip runs out of its guaranteed specification and might therefore be broken. 1 million seconds are just 277 hours watching TV! The firmware update might hopefully remove this bad firmware design bug, but obviously it can not repair a broken chip.
I have an update: I have achieved better color balance by using these values:
FOR STANDARD PICTURE MODE;
R gain: 630
G gain: 630
B gain: 630
R bias: 242
G bias: 217
B bias: 242
Saturation: 40
In this way the picture has better appearance.

Call Acer.
I had he same problem, Acer sent to me a technician who uploaded new firmware to the TV and in about 10 minutes the problem was solved.
Uploading the new firmware goes through a specific interface so unfortunately you can't do it yourself
I have the same pb with my Acer TV, I had 3 Acer laptop and each failed for different reasons! NEVER buy an ACER if you can help it!!!!!! ACER is cheap but never works longer than 18 months... ACER is worth crap!!!!!
This is a known issue - Acer have a firmware update that resolves this issue

I've also got a AL2671W with the problem, that all the channel settings faal back to certain default values. I haven't seen on any ACER site, that there is a new firmware or gonna be and neither how it should be "installed" on the TV. So, I would be pleased to hear, if there are some news.
I am facing the similar problem so please help me to solve the problem
