Other than a tech looking it over, look inside at the main and power board for green led lights on the board, they are used to indicate the voltages are there or not, a clue to what may be happening.

The other known issue is the power relay/s this set may have up to 3 and they are known to stick open or closed If the power light does not go out when the set is turned off one relay is stuck--simple test in any case is a gentle tape with the handle of a screwdriver on the relay/s.

Vivitek D326MX DLP, does no power up right away.

Almost certainly a faulty switch mode power supply. Since these are both complicated and dangerous for the inexperienced to play with, the best advice will be to take it to a service centre for repair. It's almost certain to be either failing electrolytic capacitors, or a high value startup resistor, or both, in the smps :o)

My hitachi 1999 tv turns on but off right away has flashing green lights in back

If the flashing green lights are on the circuit board each is tied to a voltage from the power supply----likely damage is there but a 99 may not be economical to fix in 2012.

A tree limd fell on a power line running across my yard to his house. now we only have partial electricity.any ideas why?

Hello elle..... Definitely call the power company right away. You have probably lost one leg of your power so that instead of having two 110 volt legs going into your electrical panel you have only one leg. That would eliminate half of your power.

This is a potentially dangerous situation so please call the power company right away. ALSO do not use your electric dryer or electric stove/oven under any circumstances at these require 220 volts and using them could damage your appliances. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

TURNS ON AND POWER TURNS OFF RIGHT AWAY.

Is the battery fully charged? If so unplug the device before turning it on. My roomates HP will shut off if plugged in while powered on it is most likely due to the compound on the heatsink.
