So your laptop does not have a vga output at all?
Hi gmontgome595, my laptop has a standard vga port but it doesn't work connected directly to the vga output of my DELL3300, it says to connect the pc by means of the m1-da port..My question: can a standard adapter suchhttp://www.monoprice.com/products/produc..." match with my vga cable or do I need its M1-DAVGA+USB as the projector manual suggest?
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/ac... The projector should except the video from your computer over the vga connection as long at the laptop is set to 1024 by 768. This is the native resoulution of your projector and the best quality it can really project. Are you using windows 7 or xp?
The adapter your link gave me is from DVI
I tried to connect the projector with all different resolutions (from 800x 600 to 1280x800) but with no results, it's always asking me to connect by M1-DA output. I tried both with a pc with 7starter OS and with a macbook, no differences..Can a standard Mi-DA.VG A adapter work in your opinion http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-M1-A-HD-... other suggestions..?
Is it the computer asking you or the projector? I have used the DVI to VGA converters. They work fine but you lose some function. It looks like you don't need the usb it is for data transfer. Still something isn't right if you can't go straight VGA to VGA its either a computer or projector setting. Aspect, signal type, auto source search would be projector menus I would be interested in.
it's the projector asking me to connect M1-DA instead of Vga cable.. I've already tried all different settings available.. I will try with another laptop (DELL) and, in the meantime if you have other suggestion, let me know.. keep in touch and thanks
Ok I looked at another shot of your machine and it looks like the vga port on it is an output? So its only input for computer must be though its DVI port. It seems the cable you need should ahve come with the machine. The adapter you shouwed me should work but you will loose the control function.
