I wish to remove the agitator in a F & P ECS Gentle Annie washing machine circa 1990, as it has a lot of black crud inside it.
The is actuallt a special spanner for it which is now unavailable

Almost all parts are interchangeable- Gentle Annie and Frigidaire are all the same machines- only parts different are main power board in base of machine, and display board- everything else the same. Motors are interchangeable, as long as the plug connection is the same- there are two different types of plug connection (ie male and female plugs are opposite ways around).

could have a sock in pump vac and towel needed unplug empty water remove drain hose shop vac pump and both hoses turn on to see if pump motor runs

Make sure there is voltage going to the valve solenoids. That is what opens up and lets water into the washer. You will have to open up the top of the washer control. The valve assembly is where the hoses screw in the back. I don't have the technical on it but most likely should be 120V. Sometimes the valve goes bad and won't open up.

remove drive belt.check 2 see if main drive pulley turns freely.check to see if motor turns freely. could b belt. what country r u in . parts hard 2 get in australia. please reply 4 more help. please turn off power b4 u work on it. do not want any accidents.good luck
