Having problems running my chainsaw?

Eruns but has no power.

  • Antonio Arellano Nov 02, 2017

Have you checked the spark arrester screen? It is located on the ,muffler attached with a screw. Those get clogged and cause the problem you are mentioning.

If airfilter is clean and have good gas in tank. And you hawe checked ideal settings for carburetor. Possible problem with the carburetor. A faulty carburetor diaphragm or even a broken crankshaft seal.

Hello i have a rancher 455e with no spark at times runs a short time boggs down and dies then no start or spark ????

No spark could be a number of issues. Break in ignition wire, faulty switch, incorrect timing space, faulty ignition module, bad sparkplug or the spark plug lead.
The running problem is most likely a fueling issue, check the fuel lines, filter and make sure fuel is getting into the cylinder.

My chainsaw starts and runs fine. After a short time cutting it starves for fuel and cuts out. It will still idle. The carb has been rebuilt and no change.

Take it back to whoever did the carb work. There are two jets on those, an idle jet which can be adjusted for idle speed, and the power jet that kicks in when the saw is under work load. You still have a problem with the power jet, either needs adjusting 1/4 turn at a time until the saw stops killing under load, or the jet and assembly is bad.

I have a 14" Woodshark Poulan chainsaw. I put in

Poulan Chainsaws are pretty well all powered by two stroke engines. My best guess is that you have the fuel mixture incorrect (it should be a 1:40 ratio of oil to gas). if the fuel mixture is not the problem then your choke is messed up. If you haven't tried already try and find the sweet spot in the choke where it will run.

I have a poulan 1625 electric chainsaw that is made

European power is at 50 CPS too. I wouldn't! It will run at half power, it may overheat, probably not safe. How much value do you place on your life? A new chainsaw (built for 110VAC) is pretty cheap insurance.
